Would a Communist US government commit mass genocide, or hold political prisoners?

How the fuck is anyone supposed to know that? What a stupid thread. The moderators should really delete this.

IMO, since the vast majority of US citizens don't want communism they would have to hold political prisoners if they wanted to accomplish their goals.. mass genocide is a possibility but without knowing who exactly would be enforcing communism, who knows..

They might not commit genocide. But they would inflict massive suffering and oppresion just as a natural of consequence of trying to run a country by an idelogical system not founded in reason.Quote by: Whatssnew
Unfortuntely you may be right, people forget history, they forget the lessons of the past, they'll forget the millions that died. Communism is a sick mind virus, like religion, that will always be poised to infect and fester in the minds of naive idealists, we just have to make sure we smash it down when it tries to raise it's ugly head again.Quote by: Dan47

The "communist murder machines" of the past were in horribly underdeveloped nations that are in no way comparable to the United States.

Maybe you should take a break and actually try learning about what you are so adamant against. So far all I've seen from you is the invoking of irrelevant historical instances.

Human nature doesnt change. Marx didnt get this, and neither do you apprantly.Quote by: Dan74
I know enough to know about the inherent flaws of Communism, and its misreading of human nature to know it is an evil that must be opposed, even at terrible costs.Maybe you should take a break and actually try learning about what you are so adamant against. It doesn't? Where is that fixed in stone? Or is it just a bullshit hypothetical by you?
Trust me, if you think China, the DPRK, Vietnam, Laos, Cuba, and others are all "communist" then you don't know anything about it.I know enough to know about the inherent flaws of Communism, and its misreading of human nature to know it is an evil that must be opposed, even at terrible costs.

I think he was implying that with time, forgetfulness, endless undermining of our government and education system, along with a splash of indoctrination will ultimately lead to a world were people want a drink of that arsenic laced cool aid.

Well...its not fixed in stone, just your DNA. Survival of the fittest has been the key contributor to our human nature, thus our nature does not fit the requirements for a functional, and good Communist government. Communists fail to recognize realities like those idiots that try to keep tigers as house pets. If people were more like golden retrievers, ok, then maybe Communism would work, but we are not like golden retrievers, we are far to unruly, and too unpredictable.
