my girl and i were just getting intimate.. then that hick had to come on and completely kill the mood.
Two points:

1. The first sentence is really more information than we need.

2. Why not turn off the TV when things began warming up?

Then again, nevermind. Getting into the too much information category again.

Did you spot his 1st lie?
a) What was it?
b) Did he lie at all?
It didnt take him long at all;
I found it in the first paragraph
Quote:
We've been placed in office by the votes of the people we serve.
When they disenfranchised Ohio Democrats, they disenfranchised all American Democrats. GW Bush is an imposter.
His 1st term was a catastrophy.
He lost all three debates.
Shameful.

I don't think George Bush or for that matter, any of the Republicans and Democrats care what I have to say, so I'm not sure why I care what George Bush says anymore.

For example, in the year 2027, the government will somehow have to come up with an extra $200 billion to keep the system afloat. And by 2033, the annual shortfall would be more than $300 billion. By the year 2042, the entire system would be exhausted and bankrupt.

Good to see them standing up to the lunatic. The White House prolly wont report the BOOs. If it ever supplies the SOTU speech.

Yes, that will be a tough row to hoe, reforming Social Security has been a "pending" for the US for way too long and demographics make it ever more pressing.

heh.. that wasn't too much information. could've been MUCH worse.

Do you think Iran will be easier than a sanction starved, unarmed Iraq?
it depends on how you want to look at it. would nation building be hard? you bet. would launching an airborne attack (with no accompanying ground invasion) would be easy. even if they were to begin flooding over the borders, i don't see much to worry about. we'd just start to carpet bomb the hell out of them. iran's military hasn't been starved like iraq's was, but compared to our capabilities there's little difference.

I would be all for it, if they carpet bomb us first.

However, under no circumstances should we attack for an ethereal ideology or adverb.
Self defense and UN authority are the only 2 legal reasons that we have signed to.
Only because we HAVE BEEN attacked, not because we might be attacked by some stretch of the imagination.

I dont mean an independant attack, either, by 19 hijackers (5 of which survived the suicide mission), acting on their own religious zeal. (I am still not convinced 911 wasnt a Reichstagg, with inside, Neo-Con help).

Yes he would have been impeached for failing his consitutional requirement to give the Address.
Where do you get that? The Constitution states the president "from time to time" must give information to the Congress regarding the state of the union but it doesn't say when, how (he could give them a report) or what to do if he doesn't.

Besides, even if it were the case, with a Republican rubber-stamp majority in place, don't bet any real money on that.

It's also going to be a tough sell because the salesman himself is incompetant. Even conservatives shy away from his economic policies.
With his economic track record, how can ANYONE support him whe he says he knows hopw to "fix" something like SS?
But of course, he'll never have to COLLECT it, so why not have some fun tinkering with it.

maybe its time to end government pensions and put them back on SS.
Put us eye to eye.
Otherwise they should just keep their damn claws off.

I dont have much respect for Jesse Jackson as a preacher,
as a civil rights activist he has my vote.
Quote:

State of the Union speech falls short, says Rev. Jesse Jackson
by Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rainbow/PUSH Coalition
February 3, 2005

CHICAGO - When will our troops return home from Iraq? What is the President’s plan to prevent factory jobs from going abroad? What is his plan for providing healthcare for the estimated 45 million Americans who have no insurance coverage? And how much money will he commit to address the AIDS epidemic spreading rapidly in black communities in the U.S. and around the world?

The President’s 2005 State of the Union address failed to answer the questions that people care about. And for Americans who expected President Bush’s speech to bring a divided America closer together, the speech was a major disappointment, Rev. Jesse L. Jackson said.

“The President’s State of the Union address looks at the world and our nation from a top down philosophy,” said Rev. Jackson, founder and president of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition. “From his plan to privatize social security, curtailing class-action lawsuits that hold corporations accountable, to his proposals granting tax breaks to corporations who take their businesses and jobs offshore, his state of the union offers windfall hand-outs to the haves and possibilities for the have-nots.”

For 53-mintues, said Rev. Jackson, it was business as usual, a speech full of new promises, disguised in political trickery. Remember the wolves in sheep’s clothing, Rev. Jackson said. President Bush boasts about creating 2.3 million jobs last year, but failed to concede that there has still been a net loss of jobs in virtually every state under his administration. He talks about fighting for Democracy abroad, but he avoided the concerns about Democracy being threatened at home.
<snip>
(last paragraph)
“From his plan to privatize social security, curtailing class action lawsuits that hold corporations accountable, to his proposals granting tax breaks to corporations who take their businesses and jobs offshore, Bush’s state of the union offered windfall hand-outs to the “haves” and nothing for the “have-nots,” said Rev. Jackson. “Our struggle continues.”

If people have problems to understand what was Bush's message during his "State of the Union Address 2005", then peolpe can choose from variety of some other issues they are more familiar with.Politics is not for everybody and does not serve all.

"Tylenol" should help us, but does it ? Not all the medicine serve us all, well. Change the pills, or do not caomplain, guys :-)))

A lot of us TRIED that, Rainbow, but he was elected anyway.
He's OUR President now, and he needs to make his position clear to EVERYONE and not just you and I. Bush prides himself on "plain talk" so wht can't some people understand him? Could he be making things unnecessarily vague so he can do anything he wants and maintain he was saying that all along?

Except few issues - like Social Security, for example - Bush rather presented his plan on a schedule U.S. should go on and/or within, while Foreign Policy was his priority.

Errata :
------------------
"presented his plan or a schedule"

P.S.
Thanx, guys :-)))

a little grammar would make your posts much more understandable.. "bush rather presented", "on a schedule U.S. should go on and/or within"... what are you saying exactly???

Bishop is right. You composition is impossible to decipher.
You could have just put in the missing words.
We are not being mean, we just want to know what you mean. OK?

OK.
I fixed that problem with missing words. I had pressed a wrong key.
It should be "or" instead of "on".
Thanx :-)))

Here's how I made listening to the speech fun:

I imagined John Kerry saying the exact same words, and legions of Democrats cheering him on.
