Military folks support Paul ~ 2X all others combined (Obama too)

Ron Paul Military Donations Nearly Twice Those of His GOP Rivals and Obama

So the People on the front line, who see what is really going on, are pickin' up what
    Paul is layin' down !

Active-military men and women support Dr. Paul about three times more than Obama, and six times more than combined Republican opponents.

That is in donations rather than numbers, but ok. It is still significant.

More significant though is that Paul hasn't won a single state yet.

Wouldn't Paul slash the military budget? They'd be voting against their own paychecks.

For a void without a question is just perverse.

Well, the military support didn't help Paul in South Carolina (13%) and Florida (7%)--two very pro military states. Too bad all the Republican citizens of South Carolina and Florida weren't enlisted in the military--Paul would be the front runner! But then Paul would have a problem--explaining why most of his supporters get a government pay check.

    Damn.....

It's seems the folks on the front line who do the killin' and the dyin' for the American way of money aren't as keen about war as the chicken hawks in Congress and the White House.

Who cares? The military opinion deserves no special respect. And Ron Paul doesn't have a prayer at this point, and you know it.

A man said to the universe:
    "Sir, I exist!"
    "However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
    A sense of obligation."

It has nothing to do with special respect. It is the implication that those who actually experience our military policy directly support Ron Paul's views and planned changes. I'm not sure I agree with that implication, specifically because despite seemingly popular political opinion, money is not speech -- but also because it was Paul's own campaign that released the data and I'm naturally skeptical.

I wouldn't be surprised if there really were a lot of Ron Paul supporters in the military. Ron Paul supporters tend to be angry young males.

Internet Demographic Data of Ron Paul Supporters

Ron Paul Rising: Evidence from National Polls on Ron Paul

Military recruiters feed upon angry young males like they're candy. There are probably quite a few who sign up only to discover that they hardly ever get to shoot people and have to listen to immovable authority figures telling them what to do all the time.

The more you complain, the less I care about your problems.

This report was sited by Paul's people, but the data was taken from the FEC so I'm sure the
media (Yahoo) could have fact checked it be for the published it.

How can you be "sure" of the FEC data? The link gives no evidence of donor verification. The data is "donor supplied" after all. And some of those donors were apparently "The Man," "Thanks Obama," and "The Lord." I say "apparently" because I heard this information second hand and can not independently verify it as well. When you supply the report, we can better judge the claim.

Also, it makes no sense that Paul has such a large amount of military support when he did (apparently) so poorly in military-heavy counties in South Carolina and Florida, two states where Paul received very low vote percentages. Soldiers' families and friends could be expected to follow the advice of their deployed relatives.
