Bush Asks For Patience!!

Amazing! Bush is now the one asking for patience with Iraq! If he had only had a little more patience with the in-country UN inspectors, we wouldn't be in this mess. Another 3 dozen or so dead GI's today alone. Hundreds of billions of dollars, countless dead and injured.

Yeah, all the rest of us need to have patience!

"President Bush pleaded for Americans' patience Wednesday on what he conceded was "a very discouraging day" of death and violence for U.S. troops in Iraq."

31 were bagged in a chopper crash in southern iraq.

the insurgents are stepping up attacks for the elections. voting is going to be a harrowing experience for most iraqis, if they can work out where the secret ballot locations are..

sunnis have given up altogether, from what i can tell.

this nation building sure is hard work!

12 years was long enough. Sorry you guys lost that one too.

As for the crash, it happens in peace, it sucks, but it has nothing to do with "the war" Shit happens when you fly.

You really won't accept what happened over those twelve years will you?

Just how many people have to be raped, murdered, torured and maimed for you? Just asking.

What a crock! When the names and ranks are released, we'll see how many of these dead were reservists that wouldn't have been on duty if it weren't for Bush's war. You might as well claim that all the dead have "nothing to do with "the war"", since everybody dies eventually anyway.

12 years was long enough?? Ok, what war was started after saddam was kicked out of Kuwait? What did 12 years of "stonewalling", as you call it, do for saddam?? What WMD's did he produce? What upgrading of his military was accomplished? If saddam really used those 12 years to make his country stronger, where are the improvements that he supposedly made? Answer this, something that none of the Bush shills have ever done.... Why are there unlimited suicide bombers attacking the "liberators", yet not a single one ever went after saddam???

is that the criteria for invasion? then let's get the hell into africa!!!!

why did we support him while he was committing those crimes?

your reasoning makes little sense to me. the stated reasons do not match up with the corresponding behaviour at all. this is why liberals suggest there are ulterior motives at play. which is of course the correct conclusion.

There was plenty fo criteria to go to war, you just choose to ignore those.

Those reservist, knew what they were signing up for, and died doing thier DUTY. You wouldn't understand.

Yeah, you are right about one thing. I don't understand how a two-bit chickenhawk, who complains that he doesn't get a tax break to support his own children, can have the balls to dismiss the deaths of 31 GI's who died in an unnecessary war that he supports, as "Shit happens when you fly." You should be ashamed. Shit in the form of lies dribbles down your chin every time you open your mouth. There were no WMD's. There was no connection to WTC. There was no clear and present danger to this country from Iraq. Every justification you mouth in support of this war has been disproved. You, sir, have no honor whatsoever. You are the lowest of the low.

Yea, but it didn't happen "in peace" it happened during an unecessary war. So do you think all those guys were just destined to die in a small aircraft accident? unless they were all rock stars or Kennedy's, I don't see that happening.

Why are you only going back twelve years? Why don't you go back twenty-five or so to when our government propped that maniac up into power. Do you guys need to be reminded of that as much as the Dems need to be reminded that they got a Klansman questioning the ethics of our current administration? It's lucky for you f-ups that your comptetion in so out of touch.

Your right to speak does not concern Iraq though...nor does it concern the troops who were sent there. How does Iraq effect your freedom of speech? It was in no position to invade the US...

12 years of genocidal sanctions and bombings wasn't enough for Vicchio. Let's slaughter every man, woman and child in Iraq and it still won't be enough for him.

i hate to break it to you but as noble as your intentions to help iraqis may be, it will have no impact on yours or my right to free speech.

Will you at least be honest enough to admit that the worst of Saddam's crimes were committed while he was our ally? While we were supplying him with military hardware and logistics!

And please don't forget the tens of thousands of civilians tortured and slaughtered by our brutal occupation. Or don't they count to you? The US miltiary doesn't consider them even worthy of counting.

The level of hypocrisy in the "rape, murder & torture" whine gets really hard to stomach.

That is right, and I agree.
However, I think that pilots should undergo much more rigorous trainings and tests, in order to minimize eventual casualties. That concerns the equipement, as well.

Bush asks for patience ?
Building new political fundaments for a state is not a computer-based game (like "Civilization", for example). It really takes time, especially in states that have never had any pro-democratic experience in its history at all.

Again, you're assuming that anything remotely resembling a form of government which will benefit the people is the Bush administration's goal here. There is no reason to assume that. These people are criminals. It's time to arrest them and go on from there.

(I am not sure whom your submitted text is addressed to.)

That is not my assumption and has never been. My point concerns : creating a state's political fundaments.

Criminals ? Arrests ?
No idea. I assume - this time - that you refer to U.S. gvoernment.
Am I correct ?
(If "yes", then this subject is not this thread's topic.)

Yeah, and you could also be inducted into NASA's astronaut program, but I think we both know that neither of these is going to happen.

As for the second part of your post, I have already done so. I was on active duty for almost ten years, 1966-1975, during another of our glorious attempts to save the world from Evil (you may have read about it, it was in all the papers). Maybe you ought to keep that in mind before you assume that you have any idea about what I am "willing to die for", or that I "wouldn't understand" what duty is.

I'd especially like to see you and another poster in here stand up before the families of the 31 dead GI's and tell them that "Shit happens when you fly".
