Bush Begins His Second Term

"Our country has accepted obligations that are difficult to fulfill and would be dishonorable to abandon," the President declared in the first wartime inauguration in more than three decades.

"All who live in tyranny and hopelessness can know: The United States will not ignore oppression or excuse your oppressors," Bush said. "When you stand for your liberty, we will stand with you."

Will he be as good as his word, you think?

No kidding

Half the Nation thinks Bush better than Reagan......that level of Brainwashing ability needs to be respected.

If Bush free's the people of Iran and gives them Liberty. without a draft or without turning the Muslim world against us........Then Bush will secure a Legacy, because people who could, should, and need to prove that Bush has strong ties to the Birth and attack options and capabilities of Terrorists, and that he's never focused on getting Bin Laden, and that the Bush family & family friends were all invested in the parts of the market that would expand like wildfire......but only if a terrorist event like 9/11 were to occur.

At this point some could argue that had Bush not allowed the attack........we'd be worse off.

9/11 allowed us to control & change a region......well maybe it has, we'll see.

As far as being safer from Terror......You shouldn't be allowed to proclaim an office of Homeland security.....If you don't even have control over your Borders. Thats a really sad joke, and large corporations want you to think that America couldn't survive without workers willing to work jobs Americans won't take........THE TRUTH IS, THESE CORPORATIONS WANNA PAY ILLEGALS LESS SO THAT THEY CAN MAKE MORE. AMERICANS COULD BE PAID A DECENT WAGE AND THE COMPANY COULD SUCEED, BUT GREED MAKES THESE MEN SEEK SHORTCUTS TO MASSIVE STOCK INCREASES.

I think Bush will take out Iran.......He knows it will make Him look good.

He's a criminal. Just like his predecessors. I'm beginning to think I just don't want to hear what any of them have to say.

He THINKS it will make him look good, and since I have NO power over him I wish him success...for all our sakes!
It's looking more and more that Iraq was simply a staging ground for Iran all along. This would explain all the lies about why we went in. Go into a country that was supposed not to fight back (at least not much) and see what happened before the main event.
However, judging by what DID happen in Iraq, I hope Bush rethinks going into Iran. Bush, IMO gambled that all the lies about Iraq would be forgiven once everyone saw what a positive effect we had on the whole region. Unfortunately, it was an utter disaster and due to that I believe NO ONE should show Bush the least amount of support or confidence for entering Iran at this time.

Does it matter WHAT any of them say? To me, it's a classic example of "fool me once, shame on you. Fool me TWICE, shame on ME!" Maybe I'm too cynical, but after being lied to so often for so long by my own government, I not only DON'T trust them I will NEVER trust them again for as long as I live, ever.

I was reminded of the statutes in the Soviet Union that guaranteed democracy and freedom and delivered only a police state. Bush is promising an ugly crusade that has absolutely nothing to do freedom or liberty.

The comment about being a war-time president reminds me of the kid who murders his parents then throws himself on mercy of the court because he is an orphan. Bush is a war-time president only because he launched us into a needless war. His so-called "Global War on Terror" is a bigger lie than his claims about WMD. He abandoned the pursuit of Bin Laden at a critical moment so that he could go after Saddam. Iran, who also never attacked us, may be next.

Bush has already attacked our basic rights of habeus corpus, has ignored about half of the Bill of Rights, has legalized torture and built an American Gulag, and he has the unmitigated gall to rant about "freedom" and "liberty."

All Bush offers are endless wars of empire, all wrapped up in the name of "liberty" and "freedom."

That sure sounds like we will be the worlds policemen to me. All some oppressed folks have to do is say the word and we'll come-a-runnin.
What will fearless leader have to say in his defense when his first "bay of pigs" situation occurs? Looking at his track record of stubbornness and lack of foresight, he is BOUND to promise some kind of help to some group and then have to pull out at the last minute because he will piss off the wrong country if he keeps his promise.
