Look, does it matter? Any city of significant size most likely has an area with higher percentages of a certain nationalities including Iranian, Syrian, Egyptian, etc. I live in one of those areas and it's full of good hard working Iranians that own the convienent store, the laundry mat, and the Persian restaurants. Their kids play with my dog, sell lemonade, ask for candy on Oct 31st. Evil muslims? Hardly. And anyone that thinks differently is not only unAmerican, but not welcome in my neighborhood as far as im concerned,

Many American distrust anything that is different. Many Americans cannot differentiate between Islamists and the Islamic. That being said, in general Americans are open and tolerant. My kids go to school with Christians, Jews, Muslims and few Hindus and Buddists. In my neighborhood religion is generally not an issue.

And which Islam are you referring to? The Saudi Wahabis are a world apart from the Islam practiced in Indonesia (parts of Aceh excepted). I always smile when I hear people talk about "Christianity". I want nothing to do with the sort of "Christianity" many fundametalists preach.

Well, all I can say is I hope there're more Americans like you Lou. And I also hope that Muslims outside America reciprocate your kindness. But, quite frankly, I doubt it.

i do not think it makes a lot of difference who hates muslims. It seems to me that they are being born at a much faster ratthan any other religious babies. This means that eventually they will be the largest most followed religion.. if not eventually the only one. Perhaps this was started as an alternative to holy war?

that was not meant as an anti muslim statement by the way. I feel that everyone has a right to their own beleifs.. even if they were pushed onto them by others since birth.

BloodEagle - I think it's just that Islam is a dominant religion in poorer countries. In poorer countries, the birth rate tends to be higher...whereas in our '1st world' it's declined to the point of going backwards! It's not a religious thing, it's a poverty thing!

In a poor society, religion is the only thing preventing the poor from murdering the rich.
