How do you like my headline? Our California Govenor (Arnold whats his name) kicks female nurses in their butts.
It all happen when he put into effect a new law that counter-effected union rulings about the staffing of hospitals with nurses (most of whom are female employees).
Under the old rules a nurse was not allowed to care for more then 5 people at a hospital and any one given time. Anorld has rolled back that standard and ruled they will soon have to care for 6 people (at a time). That would mean that the hospital could reduce the number of nurses needed for each shift - by expanding their duties - which would cut back the costs of operating the hospital and in turn reduce the amount the state would have to pay out for those who use emergency rooms but cannot pay for that treatment.
His idea would help to keep some emergency rooms and hospitals from shutting down because of lack of funding (paying the staff).
So when Anorld showed up to give a speech as this woman's group a bunch of nurces were outside protesting his new law (for degrading thier union contracts). You could hear them shouting as he started to speak inside the building.
So he said. "you hear all those women out their shouting, that is what is called a special interest group (the women inside politely laughed), they are mad at me because I will not give into special interest groups, and they know I am going to kick their butts".
Yep, he said that. Imagine - kicking a female nurse in the butt, but that is our weight lifting Governor for you.
