Outsourcing high-paying jobs simply isn't doing enough to drive labor costs down in this country. Bush's solution? Massive immigration to fill the low paying jobs as well. Americans squeezed from both sides will be competing for fewer jobs, driving down salaries and benefits. Since the immigrants won't actually be paid liveable wages, the taxpayers will also be required to subsidize them by providing free medical care at emergency rooms, free schooling for their kids, and numerous government giveaway programs for the poor.

What bothers me is that the word "illegal" has no meaning if you are not a citizen. What is wrong with "illegal" aliens recieving "free" assistance when these parasites contribute nothing to the country. Let's change the illegal to "misguided". We have plenty of "misguided" aliens, we need to show them the way back to their own country. And give them the guidance of applying for citizenship "legally".

Bush is a freakin backstabbing rock... has anyone seen the "one finger victory salute!?" Classic!!

This is disgusting news. I heard that Powell was also promoting this insanity regarding the illegal invaders. The US is now an occupied country and being colonized by filthy invaders.

Is a redneck a fat American pig who drinks Bud and thinks he's tough because he drives a pickup truck?

No. I would go with:

"Redneck" in the nominative form is often used synonymously with "bigot" or "racist" when referring to rural Caucasians presumed to harbor ethnic-based biases, esp. against blacks. The term is also an adjective with a similar application.

We should throw all the damed filthy foreigners out of this country. And what happened to all the buffalo?

Of course if you are not a Native American, you might want to reconsider. Immigrants built this nation and we are all their children. Slamming the door behind us is short-sighted and frankly stupid.

Interesting this is happening right after this:

BUSH NOMINATES ALBERTO GONZALES TO FILL ASHCROFTS SHOES.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) nominated as his new attorney general on Wednesday the top White House lawyer, Alberto Gonzales, a son of migrant workers who rose to become a confidant of Bush and helped shape legal opinions about prisoner treatment in the war on terror.

Bio on Gonzales:

(clippet)
Judge Alberto R. Gonzales was appointed Counsel to the President in January 2001. Prior to joining the White House, Judge Gonzales was a justice on the Texas Supreme Court. He also served Texas as the 100th Secretary of State and as General Counsel to Governor George W. Bush. He was a partner with Vinson & Elkins in Houston before joining the Governor's staff.

Judge Gonzales attended the U.S. Air Force Academy prior to transferring to Rice University where he earned a B.A. degree. He then earned his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School. Among his many professional and civic activities, he has served as a director for the State Bar of Texas, President of the Houston Hispanic Bar Association, Chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Harris County, and President of Leadership Houston. He was chosen as one of the Five Outstanding Young Texans by the Texas Jaycees and as the Outstanding Young Lawyer of Texas by the Texas Young Lawyers Association.

Hmmmmm, worked for an INTERNATIONAL LAW FIRM, SERVED BUSH IN TEXAS, FROM A MIGRANT WORKING FAMILY..... my heart is just warmed with global peace and prosperity.....

This is playing out like a bad story, with a worse ending.

I told Ya so......doesn't seem to cover it.

Does Bush still think that He needs the Hispanic Vote? Or is the Republican party making a Play to permanently take control of the Hispanic vote? Or is Bush just Pandering to American companies seeking minimum wage migrant workers?

How much trouble can he get us in, after all its just a short term position. We will overthrow this regime in the recount.

<clip>
Gonzales drew criticism after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks when he wrote a memo in which Bush claimed the right to waive anti-torture law and international treaties providing protections to prisoners of war. That position drew fire from human rights groups, who said it helped lead to the type of abuses uncovered in the Abu Ghraib prison scandal.

Specifically, Gonzales' memo said the Geneva Convention that had long governed the treatment of prisoners did not apply to al-Qaida or the war in Afghanistan (news - web sites). The memo called some of the Geneva Convention's provisions "quaint."

Gonzales also defended the administration's policy — essentially repudiated by the Supreme Court and now being fought out in lower courts — of detaining certain terrorism suspects for extended periods without access to lawyers or courts.
Bush was unapologetic about Gonzales' role.

It has some pluses and minuses.
Today's illegal aliens, will become fully entitled and eligible for all the social benefits granted to all te alines who reside in U.S., and it may shake a system for a little.
On the other hand, those people will provide a system with additional income, which partially bring that money back (taxes).

An (additional) example :
Politically, there are some illegal aliens in U.S. that their countries of origin officially support U.S. policy in Iraq. It could give these U.S. partners some relief as a token of U.S.'s appraciation in that matter, respectively.

I think that it is not an easy decision, and one needs to calculate these factors.

So entry to this country should be determined by the amount of political support shown to the U.S. policy in Iraq?

Iraq is an example (only), because it concerns actual events.
However, U.S. "partners" may expect a relief for their support to U.S.

Great idea! If U.S. policy can't get international support on it's own merits, we'll buy it with "relief" to our "partners".

Unfortunately, history has shown that support that has been bought lasts only as long as the payments continue.

That business is a part of U.S. policy, to get an approval on international arena.
Unfortunatelly, that is true. Politics and money (Money and politics) rule.

Only to people who don't understand the constitution and ideology of the United States. Thanks for introducing us to your shortcomings on understanding how the system works, rainbow.
