![]() Fire the Liars Location: California Posts: 7,090 | Why would it be OK for the government to kill billions of people all over the place, in the name of profit. Then make it illegal for an individual to end his own hopeless situation, a tormented existense with no possible cure. Are you people aware What Hospice is? Hospice has a license to do exactly what Jack K. is serving 10 - 25 years for. The only difference is Hospice shoves an overdose up your rectum rather than letting you push the button your self. The reason Kevorkian is in prison is because he was infringing on a multi-billion dollar industry. |

He knew he was risking such a thing by tempting the laws about aiding what can be called murder. He however should be set free from jail if his probation instructed him not to voice any more opinions or advice about suicide. Technosoul. |

If anything I consider him more along the lines of an activist demonstrating in something he believes in. I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs and insanity for everyone, but its always worked for me. Never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified, is not a crime." (Ernest Hemingway) |

The most important factor is : suferring. People with incurable diseases suffer horribly. That is beyond comprehention. I read reports in that matter. A "horror story". Kevorkian should not be jailed at all, not to mention his release. However, big-business companies care money, only. | |

| Logic Via Reality Posts: 653 | If I thought he was doing it to be a mean son of a bitch I would say let him rot, but this is someone who not unlike a coroner or a funeral director does a job most find aborhent and disgusting but someone has to do it to make another persons pain easier. The dying have a right to choose, if they are not religious and worry about the consequence when they leave this earth that is their problem, if they want out, let em out. I say free the guy. George Bush kicks ass and takes names in 2005!! |

| Igneous Magma Posts: 716 | It is interesting to note that if you choose to have your animal die slowly in agony youre liable to be prosecuted, but you are required to select that option with humans, and prosecuted if you give them a peaceful death. Kevorkian broke the law, and that is why hes in jail. But to morally justify his sentence is quite difficult. Lava |
