| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,936 | During a press conference today a reporter ask Arnold if he would work with Democrats if they offered some suggestions, and he answered "why should I listen to losers" - then walked off stage without taking more questions. Right away the local news stations here reported that he was calling Democrats losers in a negative way. He also is famous for calling Democrats "girlie men" and for saying that the "Indians are ripping us off". Now I might be a bit of a girlie man for saying this but it seems he was being a bit insensitive calling Democrats a bunch of losers while they are trying to recover from the reality we might have to put up with Bush for another four years (impeachments pending). Wonder if all Republicans feel the same? Technosoul. |

He wasn't really calling Dems losers, he was referring to a bunch of ballot initiatives involving budget referendums that they lost on. How many times must this be said? I heard that interview and I cringed when he said that stuff too, but he didn't just walk off and it makes more sense.... Oh, nevermind. You don't listen anyway. So he might have been saying in effect - why rehash ideas that already lost the support of the majority? However the reporter asked directly if he would concider suggestions from the democats about those topics and he said "why listen to losers" (because the Republicans won the election and Bush won?) That seemed to be the impression he made. But in spite of his remarks here within the state of California the majority of state voters did go with the democratic ticket, and people like Barbara Boxer won overwhelming support. Thinking in national terms is not the same as thinking relative the opinions of people just in his state - he was thinking presidental and not as a Governor. In my opinion - but then on the other hand I do not think he was even thinking about what he was saying - just blurted it out. What we were in witness of was him speaking from has own personality which is deeply rooted in his past as a bully jock, a male "weight lifter" type of "shop talk" that agressive sports people use when in compitition with each other. I could tell by his face that he knew he had goofed with that remark as he promptly departed as the reporters "gasped" and chuckled outload in reaction to it. It is just part of his personality and perhaps not really what happens when he gets down to talking things over in meetings, I shoud hope. As requested here is a linkpage - but remember you got it first right here from my news story. http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/n...10102344.htm?1c Technosoul.

| Guest Posts: n/a | I heard the clip on the radio. I think it is ridiculous that Arnie is governor, but his comment is technically it's true isn't? Their candidate lost and the democrat philosophy is one of hating power and hating winners, and implementing policy to take them down isn't it? |

But then again, it IS California, after all, and we sure do worship our movie stars. Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots.

California Passes Stem Cell, Children's Hospitals Initiatives --"Schwarzenegger broke Republican Party ranks to support the Proposition 71 stem cell measure in what became a battle of Hollywood headliners. The actor-turned-governor teamed with late "Superman" actor Christopher Reeve and "Family Ties" actor Michael J. Fox to promote research supporters say will jump-start biotechnology and lead to breakthroughs for medical cures."-- I don't suffer from insanity... I thoroughly enjoy it
