He said he will work the next four years trying to earn the trust of those who did not vote for him. I for one am giving him a clean slate, just to see what he does with it. Its been a whole day now and I haven't seen him screw up yet. C'mon guys give him a second chance!

So should we give Bush another chance?

Sure , its his move though. End this illegal occupation of Iraq, Repair the damage, with his own money. Bring the dead back to life. Heal the maimed..... Fix that, then i will give him another list.

Yes, as long as he puts himself into the Betty Ford Clinic, tell the world that he's been drunk the past four years and didn't mean any of it, resigns and exiles himself to France. I'll give him a chance if he does all that.

All he has to do is live up to his word, but as far as giving him another chance is concerned, you actually think we have a choice? He kicked ass in this election and the majority came out to ensure he stayed. Its time to accept it.

George Bush kicks ass and takes names in 2005!!

What choices do I have?

1) Work to have Dubya impeached (very long shot)
2) Start an insurgency. (Not my style)
3) Leave the country. (Not just yet)
4) Wait it out and hope that Cheney will not run.

There will be times when resistance is required in the next four years, Starboy. We will be facing tyranny from Washington, DC if the last four are predictive...

The real question is not if Democrats will give Bush a 2nd chance but if Bush is ready to give the Democrats a first chance by listening, but not Democrats per-say, but those protesting, those in science who attempted to reason with him, and so forth. Is Bush at all ready to commuicate with his ears instead of just his mouth.

When ever Bush called for Democrats to be non-partisan he really was saying that they should do it his way or shut up. That is not the same as reaching out.

However he will be working with some new staff members, Ashcroft and the head of the Homeland Security Department are expected to drop out, and others may follow. All citing personal reasons.

( The impeachment may depend on any new reports that those 9-11 hearings are expected to make public concerning possible repremands for Bush or his staff members).

Technosoul.

i'm afraid of giving bush the benefit of the doubt - because i know what he did with that trust during his first term.

i feel the onslaught of christian fundamentalism mixing in with politics and i'm very worried.

i also see no improvement in the country's fiscal situation.

hope for america...

I'm not so sure about that. What he has been doing with his faith based initiatives is illegal. Certainly rises above lying about a blow job in the whitehouse.

Having watched The Power of Nightmares on BBC2, I've find it startling that Donald Rumsfeld is (probably still will do for this term) Secretary of defense, considering how in 1976 he gave a load of fiction about the Russia weapon's programs and their increasing capabilities.

Bush HAS his second chance. It is not within my power to grant him anything, even if I was so inclined. All I can do is watch and hope for the best.

Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots.

I am gonna be on his ASS like flies on on a pile of shit. Come to think of it, that's a pretty good metaphor for the Bush Administration...

He got a second chance with me after the theft of the first election. Then I realized: he's just a target for my scorn and that's all he'll EVER be.

We musnt hope for Bush to pull through with anything. What MUST be done is complete and utter rehaul of the democratic party, from the bottom up.

I belive it's time for a new party, the Democrats can't cut it, obviously.

...weird
