| Pragmatist Location: UK London Posts: 1,979 | I was wondering if they let people in asylums vote. If they don't surely a case could be made that the strongly religious believing in the end time etc etc could be disenfranchised due to delusion/insanity. Something to look into for next time. ![]() I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs and insanity for everyone, but its always worked for me. | Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,650 | See my post on testing voters. Well, I do not know if they have voting booths in the insane asylums but I did see a news clip of Bush voting for him self, so I guess the phychology experts are still out-to-lunch about what consitutes being normal. Now if someone is hearing voices and God tells them to walk into a MacBuger place and shoot down all the devils, well, under current thinking that is perfectly normal because we are having a war on the axes of evil. So they should let all those kinds of people out of the phychic wards for the criminally insane so they can vote for their leader. The PH.Ds will just have to re-write those books about abnormal behavior so that it conforms to the majority viewpoints during this crusade for freedom and the democratic way according to the "voices" of divine strength and power. Right or just right-wing? Technosoul. |

I mean these are the people who are influencing a majority of your vote for Christ sake. I wouldn't recommend sex, drugs and insanity for everyone, but its always worked for me. Sorry, couldnt resist that.[/b][/quote] It's exactly what I feel - in a nutshell. Forget about "fraud" and what john kerry did not do right. That's bull. There are simply a lot of insane or stupid people out there. If that was not true, human history would not be so bloody and nasty. But people do not change. After brief periods of enlightenment, the insanity, the greed, the desire to overpower and to upman their fellow human beings, catches up with a lot of people. I am slowly starting to understand the saying... "the more I get to know people, the more I love my cat". COMPETITION BRINGS THE BEST IN PRODUCTS AND THE WORST IN RELATIONSHIPS. | |

![]() Fire the Liars Location: California Posts: 7,090 | ![]() I am trying to get my sense of humor back. I can only stay angry so long---- Then I have to adjust. I think many people are just plain aloof. I think many people are just plain emotionally immature I think many people are just plain spiritually bankrupt I think many people are just plain dumb But I think most folks are not politically curious. Thats the nub. They vote by feel or by superstitition or prejudice. Sometimes judgement is inherited prepackaged from others. Its really hard to nail it down to just one thing for everybody. If you want to use madness to explain it, you would have to find a solid norm. (and not that guy on Cheers) of sanity. Way too many variables for that. A large part of insanity is "Honesty" relative. An honest man can spot a lie. So spotting the lies in a candidate, can rely on our own honesty. A man who relies on more faith than science, may believe his own bullshit. And as far as he is concerned it IS Truth. If you can find a society of others who believe the same "Truth" no matter how ungrounded: all the better to perpetuate that "Truth". This goes for politics, religion, sports, groupies and fan clubs. This must be some herding instinct. |
