| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,663 | Today someone told me "well, the elections are over and now everything is back to normal". I remarked, "yeah, if you call Bush normal" He then said that he did not vote for Kerry because Kerry wanted to farm out all our jobs to other counties". I could hardly believe my ears, some guy voted for Bush because he did not want Kerry to outsource all the jobs, clearing the person had totally mixed up the facts and had voted for the wrong person. Now I can at least respect the Bush supporters here on this forum because at least you know what each canadate said. But that guy went to the polls totally uninformed and made a choice. I guess that might have happened a lot because of the massive effort to get out the vote and encourge non-political people to cast a ballet. In our founding years our forefathers at least had the insight to make it mandatory that you could read before being allowed to vote, an idea later rejected because people in the black community could not pass the reading test. None the less now everyone should know how to read and so I think we should concider testing voters again before allowing them to regester to vote. I will call it the "no voter should be left behind" educational testing of wanna-be voters. Each canadate must provide a understandable stance on the main topics effecting the future of the nation. The people would need to learn what each one stands for in order to pass a simple and clearly written test to see if they understand who is for what. Whatcha say? Technosoul. |
