| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,663 | Was the election fair, do you think enough votes were counted to get a clear picture of who won. Do you think some voters were purged from having the right to vote by those Felon lists? Do you think any techical problems with voting equipment resulted in the wrong results. Do you think the new touch machines with no paper trail told the truth? Do you think it was pretty much all out in the open and we can have little doubt that the numbers would give Bush a margin of victory no matter what. Technosoul. |

I am dissappointed, but I am not going to be sore and try to drum up some conspiracies. Face it the majority of Americans wanted Bush and his ideology. Your poll is bogus by putting the word " totally" into it. I am sure it was not "totally" fair but it was fair enough that the man with the most votes won. under construction.... |

| Igneous Magma Posts: 623 | The US presidential elections ARE NOT FAIR by design. Hmmm...let's establish the election date on a Tuesday. Let's avoid the week-end at all csts. Let's do it on a day when people would have to beg for time off from an employer so they can go vote. And let's see...what kind of people would be more likely to have the flexibility and the possibility to screw the job for a few hurs and go vote? What kind of people would be most likely to have to work two jobs, have no private transporation and hence write off voting in the first place? Let's make a country as skewed and biased towards the privileged as we possibly can, let's fool the suckers into thinking that they TOO are part of the "privileged"... and then let's play democracy. I am so sick of the right-wingering of the US in absolutely everything it does, that honestly I am not going to shed any more tears over the people who lose their jobs, the suckers that get decapitated in Iraq, the soldiers who lose their limbs and lives, their families who whine over losing their sons in war yet vote for the same imbecile redneck who keeps them there in the first place, the middle-classes who work themselves to death only to see their living standards and quality of life a little more F***-ed every year. I don't think it's right how the Church got involved, basically telling everyone to vote, and obviously hinting at a certain candidate that agrees most with their policies *wink wink*. War is Peace Freedom is Slavery Ignorance is strength Harness the power of Ingsoc, then you can capture someone killed the year before |

One thing however needs to be remembered: that a certain direction or worldview is not automatically sanctified by the simple fact that it is approved by the "majority". As a matter of fact, the "majority" is typically pretty stupid, self-defeating and led by the nose to disaster by the powerful few. Again, Nazis - in their vast majority - believed that they had found the TRUTH and were kissing Hitler's ass like no tomorrow, without anybody in particular forcing them to do so. I see America heading into a similar direction with its war mongering attitudes and blind self-righteousness. Certainly, not a World to want to bring a child into... Another successfully hijacked election under thier belt. I bet they are proud. I would also like to thank all the sheeple out there that continue to vote Deomcrat, and Republican. Looks like I am left to wage war on corporate America all by my self. Don't look to get a cut of the spoils either, I'm keeping it all. Perhaps I'll try to use my new found money to oppress you, and I can become one of your heros as well. |

What is it with most people that they internalize their own oppression? And consciously contribute to the well-being and sucesses of their own oppressors?... I used to get red-in-the-face mad at those type of women who get beaten by their husbands today and the next day they are back to him with a smile on their face and some home-cooked pancakes, on top of them; and even hate those friends or family who tell them to leave him so they can save themselves. People have a weird way of helping their own oppressors flourish and thrive. Right now, I honestly feel that for me to show compassion to a person who lost their job or health care...I would need to know their political orientation. Otherwise, why the F*** would I squander that compassion for? COMPETITION BRINGS THE BEST IN PRODUCTS AND THE WORST IN RELATIONSHIPS. | |
