I cannot make you read this.

I can assure you that if you value the truth found only in a free society, you must read this, as it is the truth about Saddam Hussein and his weapons of mass destruction program.

So you're telling me Saddam ammased 11 billion dollars, mostly between 96-03, yet still didn't bother buying WMD, not even secrets from Pakistan while they were selling them to every rogue nation under the sun? Wow, what a threat he was.

Well, the entire United Nations thought he was enough of a threat to be under Sanctions. Why don't you take it up with them.

That was to insure he didn't become a threat again. You know so he wouldn't build his military up, build WMD, oh guess what, he didn't.

Three months and the fact remains, that the U.S. knew about the smuggling. They let it happen because Iraq's neighbors were complaining that the sanctions were hurting them. The U.S. didn't care about the corruption, they were more concerned about making sure that Iraqi children were dying of malnutrition.

Evil baby said sarcastically that SAddam was a real threat. I took it he meant that he wasn't. I was just pointing out that the U.N. thought he was enough of a threat that after the Gulf War when he was ousted from Kuwait, Saddam was allowed to remain in power provided he be under U.N. sanctions.

At least keep up, Gorgo

Well the entire UN is to blame for putting sanctions on Iraq. The UN is supposed to be a humanitarian organisation, and they were willing to let millions die in order to make their point.

Better to have kept the war going in 1991 and drive into Iraq. But UN beaucrats won't allow that without 10 years of paperwork.
Ideological loyalty is the act of giving your soul to a vague concept, to be manipulated by people smarter than you.

the sanctions were driven by the US, through the UN.
