Fox News hires Sarah Palin... wow.

Quote:
2008 Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is joining Fox News as a contributor, the news channel announced Monday.
The former Alaska governor, whose book, Going Rogue: An American Life, became a bestseller weeks before it was released and remains No. 2 on the New York Times bestseller list, has signed a multi-year deal to offer her political commentary and analysis () across all Fox News platforms, including Fox Business Channel, FoxNews.com and Fox News Radio.
[...]

"I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News. It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news ()."
FOXNews.com - Palin to Join Fox News as Contributor

OMFG. This is gonna be so epic.
For those who don't remember, here are some exemples of the exeptional wit and wisdom of Mrs Palin:

Quote:
They are also building schools for the Afghan children so that there is hope and opportunity in our neighbouring country of Afghanistan."

Quote:
Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending soldiers out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."

Quote:
"As for that VP talk all the time, I'll tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day?"

All we can do is hope that she won't lose her earphones in the middle of a tricky question.

I am shocked... SHOCKED, to hear that Sarah Palin will be pontificating for FAUX News. Clearly FAUX News is intent on restoring Fair & Balance blather to television journalism. After all, Sarah said so herself...

"It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news."

Ya, sure, you betcha.

Andy Borowitz has an amusing take:

Fox: Palin's Appearances to be Simulcast in English

Millions to Understand Governor for First Time

NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report) - One day after announcing that she would be a commentator on the Fox News Channel, the network revealed that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's appearances would be simulcast in English.

"We are delighted that Gov. Palin will, for the first time, be understandable to the English-speaking audience," said Fox News chief Roger Ailes. "This should create a whole new fan base for her." Gov. Palin praised the decision, adding, "I know many Americans will be interested in understanding what I have to say and I will also too."

In a related story, Fox said it had "no interest" in hiring funnyman Conan O'Brien, explaining, "Sarah Palin takes care of our comedy needs.

Not surprised...

However, one cannot judge a person simply on their quotations, as pretty much every person in history has a list of quotes they'd rather not have said, or would rather have said correctly. Some are...better than others at this...

If evil is my enemy, then I will fight against it. If evil is on my side, then evil is my friend. If it is simply the way of all human nature, are we then all evil?

My only hope is that she leads a third (tea?) party and breaks up this damn two-party monopoly.

The only third party she supported was the Alaska Independence Party which has called for secession and cursed the American flag among other things.

Who could possibly be surprised? All of her actions so far have pointed, not to an interest in public service but rather, in making money. Anyone who put any political hopes into Palin after the 2008 election was simply fooled by her. Anyone who put any political hopes into her after she bailed on Alaska proved their stupidity and anyone who still has any political hopes for her needs to be wearing a helmet.

As should all State governors and legislatures when the Federal government is not representing its people.

Now let's attack the snake at the head instead of the tail (3rd viable party).

Now that is funny!

Palin is a joke....but on a serious note, I’ll be watching if Conan goes on to Fox.

I've noticed that the Republican party is starting to fracture. Moderates and conservatives are increasingly becoming separate in their views. A moderate Republican might as well be from a different party as a conservative Republican. The RNC is starting to support more conservative candidates, even if they are from a different party (the New York fiasco).

If Sarah Palin runs, the Republican party fissures. While I'm not very happy that Obama would get a second term, I cannot begin to express my vehement opinion that this stupid person never gets into office.

What will emerge from the ashes will marginalize the Democratic stance on social issues by denouncing Christian morality. The Republican party must cast off its roots in the south if it wishes to be a 21st century party. Republicans can still stand for small government and fiscal responsibility, while assimilating some ideals from the Libertarian party. Out of that mix could be a truly fearsome party in 2016.

If that was actually part of her ideal than I could respect at least her commitment but, sadly, we know she denounced that movement which indicates that she wasn't really all that interested in those ideals in the first place. Another indication she is simply a modern day carpetbagger, like most politicians.

I for one have decided not to vote for anyone who does not promise to vote for public campaign finance reform to get corporate money out of elections, and end corporate personhood.
