You don't yet know they're lies, that's how. You say to yourself things like "It's on CNN so it must be true." He chastised himself for trusting someone in such a responsible position not to lie.[/b]
I'm sure Kerry only recieved his intel from CNN....please.. he had access to the same material the President did. He believed it because it's what everyone believed. It was never a lie.

<!--QuoteBegin-Nono,

As quoted by William Rivers Pitt:
Quote:
The way Powell, Eagleberger, Scowcroft, and the others were talking at the time, continued Kerry, I felt confident that Bush would work with the international community. I took the President at his word. We were told that any course would lead through the United Nations, and that war would be an absolute last resort. Many people I am close with, both Democrats and Republicans, who are also close to Bush told me unequivocally that no decisions had been made about the course of action. Bush hadnt yet been hijacked by Wolfowitz, Perle, Cheney and that whole crew. Did I think Bush was going to charge unilaterally into war? No. Did I think he would make such an incredible mess of the situation? No. Am I angry about it? Youre God damned right I am. I chose to believe the President of the United States. That was a terrible mistake.
Jeez, I wonder who these people-close-to-Kerry-close-to-Bush are. Among them no doubt was John ("He has a black daughter!!") McCain.
[/quote]
I guess Kerry forgot that we tried to get a vote in the UN, but France decided to veto anything we put through(Thanks France) and the other fact that we didn't take unilateral action.

You mean all that wonderful intelligence herded through the Pentagon OSP with Bush's favorite Iranian spy, Ahmed Chalabi, and his merry band of defectors?

Sorta like, 'I tried to ask her to have sex with me, but she said no, so I went ahead and had sex with her anyway'. Why bother going through the UN, Dievel, if we're simply going to ignore them regardless?

You don't know anything of the sort. After all, France AND Germany were with us in Afghanistan, remember? France, and the majority of the UN wanted to give the inspection process more time. God forbid we invade and destroy a country BY MISTAKE. And need I remind you, it turns our that FRANCE WAS RIGHT!

When our administration says they're willing to go it completely alone, and anyone else can tag along if they like, that's unilateral enough for me.

I must say, the American "political" scene is becoming more and more of a joke.

I think you are unjustifiably labeling people, Paavo.

George Bush kicks ass and takes names in 2005!!

Didn't mean the "VOTE FOR GOD" part all that literally, kindof as a funny - but it holds some truth though, doesn't it? I mean, they do somewhat rely on the votes of religious people, don't they? When a president tells people god speaks to him, I laugh and pity his people.

And the American political scene does look extremely childish through many European eyes, trust me. Just checking out the candidates' adverts on their internet sites make many of us go "Holy shit! What are these people, 15 years old?!".

Oh, I dunno. Sounds like a pretty good synopsis of the GOP campaign to me.

I have to admit I have no love at all for France, but anytime I see the French being knocked for not supporting us in Iraq I'm reminded of the headline in their daily paper, Le Monde the day after 9/11. It simply said "Today, we are all Americans".

But I guess that doesn't count for much, does it?

Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots.
