Cheney helping Terrorists

Cheney called this one early and i suppose since it compromised intel they decided they would release the info, so then they let Hastert divulge it as well, so Cheney wouldn't be alone in leaking terrorist threat info.

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, Vice President Dick Cheney warned Americans that if they made a "wrong choice" on election day, there would be another severe terrorist attack.

Cheney did not specify which cities he would attack, or what weapons of mass destruction he was planning to use.

John Kerry refused to comment, but aides close to the Senator are said to be advocating a pre-emptive strike against Cheney to prevent the threatened attack.

So it was an oopsy, for Dick, hastert had his back though

At a campaign rally Saturday in his Illinois district with Vice President Dick Cheney, Hastert said al Qaeda "would like to influence this election" with an attack similar to the train bombings in Madrid days before the Spanish national election in March.

When a reporter asked Hastert if he thought al Qaeda would operate with more comfort if Kerry were elected, the speaker said, "That's my opinion, yes."



The Democrats thought that these comments were crossing a line, or maybe its that they don't have the marbles needed to use whats right there to attack back, Edwards seemed to take it very hard.

"In the last 24 hours, Dennis Hastert, the Speaker of the House, has joined the fear mongering choir," Edwards said in a statement released Sunday.

"Last night, [Hastert] said something to the effect that Al Qaeda wants John Kerry to be president of the United States. Let me say this in the simplest possible terms: when John Kerry is President of the United States, we will find Al Qaeda where they are and crush them before they can do damage to the American people."

Edwards accused the Bush-Cheney campaign of repeatedly using "one of the nation's greatest tragedies as part of a cheap political ploy."

They want to scare the American people, but they will pay a price in November, Edwards added.

Hastert was basically trying to win the election for Bush with one speech, he scared the Democrats Bad, and didn't really say that much

"I don't have data or intelligence to tell me one thing or another," Hastert said at a fund-raiser in Illinois on Saturday. But, he added, "I would think they would be more apt to go (for) somebody who would file a lawsuit with the World Court or something rather than respond with troops."

Basically, Cheney can't divulge that we know, cause if they know, that we know, then they may go to plan B.

the british ambassador to italy made a great comment about how bush was the best al qaeda recruiter ever. it was meant to be off-the-record. they reported it anyway.
