I'm not sure about how you guys feel about communism. However I'd like to say that it is a terrible form of government. It is more like state instituted slavery than a utopian government.

Every nation it has been instituted in has brought misery and woe. Why would anyone want this form of government, especially here in America?

Logic and knowledge are not enough Each of us at some time in our life turns to a father, a brother, a God and asks Why am I here? What was I meant to be? Is this all that I am is there nothing more?

I guess it's a good thing that the desire for Communism is limited to a few whackos who are a small enough minority to not matter.

The "communist" states were Leninist, and all real communists agree with you on that. However, it appears to be quite self evident that you do not know the proper lexicon of the leftist vocabulary, here is some help:

What is Communism?

There is no government in a Communist state. It's the same with Anarchism.

No State and all citizens are equal.

LDS, I beleive you're mixed up with Stalinism or Leninism.

ComradeRed makes a good point (and nice to see you here among us, CR.) The Leninst/Stalinist/Maoist crowd hijacked the word "communism". As has often been pointed out, what they actually ran was a form of state capitalism (i.e. workers exploited by the state, as opposed to some capitalist boss) with definite overtones of fascism.

A friend of mine who escaped from Czechoslovakia in '68 used to say: "If I insist long enough that I'm the Second Coming, I'll eventually be dropped off at the looney bin. Yet Brezhnev calls himself a communist and nobody bats an eyelid."

That said, unfortunately I don't think that true communism is within the capability of homo sapiens. We're slaves of our egos; too immature.

Anarchy-
Absence of any form of political authority.

Anarchism-
The theory or doctrine that all forms of government should be abolished.

No difference there.

Anarchism is stateless socialism, anarchy is merely the lack of government.

I don't understand where you're getting this distinction between the two words. Specifically what in the definion of the word "anarchism" would prevent me from using the word to describe a stateless, capitalist society?

Because both capitalism.org and the anarchists declare that their idealogires are mutually exclusive. Look up Bakunin's "Anarchism: Stateless socialism" and some of Makhno's work, look at this: http://capitalism.org/faq/anarchism.htm

Notice the bolds?

If you want to go into more detailed definitions, then use anarcho-whatever words instead of just saying anarchism.

I don't post on ASC anymore. My mom was worried the government was coming after me for posting on there so I promised her I wouldn't (at least for a while). I consider myself a Libertarian now anyway.

 Anarcho-whatever is a form of anarchism, and I will not inspect every denomination of anarchism.

However, I have found the Dummies Guide to Anarchism, to sum up:
Quote:
In other words, anarchism is a political theory which aims to create a society within which individuals freely co-operate together as equals. As such anarchism opposes all forms of hierarchical control - be that control by the state or capitalist - as harmful to the individual and their individuality as well as unnecessary.

That's fine. I have no problem with calling myself a (lowercase 'l') libertarian when I talk to "True Anarchists" in order to denote my political beliefs as being supportive of stateless capitalism.

Comrade, continue to think what you want.

You've continued to show the Anarchy and Anarchism are two forms of the same thing (the state of being stateless, and the idea that you should be stateless).

I suppose you *could* "consider" anarchism "a form of" anarchy, BUT it is a lot more complicated than "just no government".

Which is why people have started using the anarcho-whatever words.

Although, to be honest, there is no point in using those words since if the government falls, who cares what people think? You can do what you want.
