I'd like to make a comment on what Obama is doing: this is not socialism, this is what we call lemon socialism, also called CCPP game: commonize cost, privatise profit. It is despised by conservatives and real socialists, includinjg me, alike.
People put the money in the bag through taxes to save the compagnies, and as soon as they work again the capitalist exploitation system go on. If this doesn't happen, well the money is just plain lost.

Lemon socialism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is LOVED by conservatives. They WANT the government to prop up the companies, they just don't want the people, through the government, to be able to say "If you take our money, you have to cut executive salaries and pay workers a reasonable wage." Conservatives don't mind the influx of money, they mind having to actually meet the demands of the populace. Obama has a pitchfork up his ass on this one. Where he is gonna meet real resistence from the people and where he is going to have to show real leadership, is on "going green". When energy costs rise to ween us from fossil fuels, mass outrage will be tremendous, but if we want to survive long term, it is necessary. Otherwise, we are just a world full of Eastern Islanders, cutting down the last of our trees to build monuments to the wealthy. (Thank you, Jarred Diamond)

I did hear some calls for cutting executive salaries, but none for paying workers a reasonable wage, when did this become a bailout condition?

Obama backs Turkey's bid to join the EU:
Quote:
He said Turkey's accession to the EU would send an important signal to the Muslim world and firmly anchor the country in Europe.

Speaking in Prague earlier on Sunday, Mr Obama said Turkey's entry into the EU would help to consolidate its position as a Western nation.

But French President Nicolas Sarkozy said it was up to the EU itself to decide who joined the bloc.
BBC NEWS | Europe | Obama backs Turkey EU accession
Yes, Sarkozy is right, but I bet the Turks are happy Obama supports their effort to join the EU, Obama is doing very well.

Paying people a reasonable wage means giving a bigger part of the cake to workers, and thus less to investors, and Wall Street people don't want that. Obama is still capitalist yanno...

Libertatian socialism is the abolition of the state and capitalism. ''Libertarian'' capitalism is hypocrisy.

'bama loses at the UNSC as members couldn't come up with a preliminary statement condemning DPRK despite early efforts particularly from Japan and himself.
