OMG!! Stop the presses! The vast majority of people's mailboxes placed near the curb had reflectors on them!!! And apparently someone, like say the Postal Service, is going around and putting reflectors on the ones that don't, for some terrible, sinister purpose like making sure the mailboxes don't get clipped by cars or snowplows in the night!!!!Recently I have noticed BOTH a red and blue disc, about the size of a nickel, and placed on the outside of my mailbox. They are relatively newly placed. They can be removed but are stuck really well. They are reasonably thick and would weather well. They are not just paper. They are reflective. I live off the main road, and I drove to town tonight carefully eyeing all the mailboxes along the way. The vast majority had yellow discs, which are reflective, and show up well in the car headlights. As I got into town, I noticed some larger colored discs on the curb at several houses. I would imagine they could be placed on door posts as well, or most any hard surface such as a wall. Go outside at dark with a flashlight and check it out, and see if they are in your area also. Yeah that sounds REALLY terrible.The plan includes adding 50 beds to a shelter run by Volunteers of America on the fairgrounds. The shelter, which was supposed to close in the spring, will now stay open, and the city also has located places for the 100 other residents at local shelters and in longer-term housing units.

You do realize that if your banking system falls, and you have to create a new currency, you will have serious riots? Right?
In a situation such as that, you take all the radicals or protesters and zone them off. The people that can function without spiting in the face of the law can go on working in the economy, those that can't you zone off into an area you can control.

See this isn't the same as the great depression where people were worried about food on their table, and could live with the hardship. People now, don't even know how to get food without driving through a fast food place. They are also better networked, so outrage spreads much faster. I don't know if we are equipped mentally to go through a depression.

Although there is one thing I've stated before that bears repeating - the problem with the Information Age is that not only is there more information out there, there's much more BAD information, like these kookery websites. Credulous people like our friend here read those websites and, being unable to critically analyze them, accept everything they say at face value.
While that hasn't led to any major disasters yet, I think it is only a matter of time before the tin-foil-hat crowd causes a major problem due to their sadly misguided grasp of reality.
