| Supercalifragilistic Posts: 431 | Sorry if there is a topic on this already somewhere. I haven't been here in awhile and I couldn't find one either. Personally, I find it most suspicious that the one thing that would give the public some clue as to the legitimacy of these claims against Michael is being concealed for over a month. This is going to be a public proceeding, why should they hide the affidavit? The victims name could be blurred from it. Simple: propoganda and psychology. The automatic assumption in our society whenever law enforcement accuses someone of a crime, is that the person is guilty (even moreso in MJ's case, considering past claims in 199X). We tend to have a bias towards our justice system in thinking that it is infallible, when it is just as subject to error as we are. So now, people are going to be left in the dark for a month to speculate on a past accusation and an entirely new allegation, the whole time by default suspecting MJ of being guilty while a media frenzy commences. Even people who think MJ is innocent will take up the stance that he is guilty to go with the flow of the crowd. Even if MJ is guilty, I still find it a nasty way of coersing the public into a set way of thinking. If these allegations are true, why even bother with these sorts of mind games? Of course, there is the possibility that they do have a legitimate reason to keep the affidavit private, yet no sufficient explanation or clarification as to why has yet been provided. I just find it all too calculated and scripted for the most part. I'm waiting until we get to see the affidavit and are presented with more information until I formulate my own stance on the matter. Hell, as far out as it may seem, MJ himself could be staging some aspect of this. There's no such thing in this world as bad publicity. =P I'd rather hear about this on the news than yet another Paris Hilton sex tape, anyways. *shrug* Discuss...? | Hot Lava Posts: 1,859 | if only MJ would have molested Paris Hilton... but Paris is just too old... I say string up the parents who let their kids go to MJ's "ranch" as well as MJ... "I really like this jacket, but the sleeves are much too long..." insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results... |

I can only question what types of "parents" not only bring their kids to the private amusement park of an accused child molestor, but let them sleep over with him, in the same bedroom no less. I believe the first accusation was false, personally; but even so, if I had kids of my own, I wouldn't have let them go to this place or stay there over night with the guy. Makes me wonder if these parents care about their kids, or more about the prospect of cash settlements... Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. |

Outside of his mother giving him drugs so his voice wouldn't change at puberty, I think the parents saw a cash cow and not a son, and didn't give him a chance to grow up. He was manipulated by his parents and probably managers as well. As far as child molestation goes, I'm leaning towards innocent. I think mentally he's a child with no sexual drive at all. His "Wife" Lisa Marie Presley said they even slept in seperate bedrooms. I don't base this on the TV's obcessive coverage, but instead on observation. He called Tommy Mottols a "bad bad man", like a six year old would say, to the press and built an amusement park in his backyard. So he hung his "son" out the window in Germany. How many 10 year olds have done childish crap like that to their 4 year old brothers just to give them a scare? Some tabloid ran a story about how wierd he was (or something) and he wrote a rebuttal in his own writing, which looked like a childs letter to grandma. Also (I wasn't watching it but it was on TV) he was taped in some toy store or something with a bunch of what looked like 6 year olds and he was having more fun playing with the toys then THEY were. It's only my opinion, but I don't believe any molestation charges (after all, he's not a Catholic priest) against him. I see him as a poor f***ed up little boy who'se adulthood was denied him, and sees other kids as his pals, or even equals. And if I'm wrong, he wouldn't do day one of jail time anyway. If he looks guilty his lawyers will trot out the "he's a retarded kid who doesn't know better" defense, or his celeberity will save his bleached ass. Look at that cold blooded killer O.J.Simpson. Even some of the JURORS said they woul have voted guilty if more evidence was allowed by that idiot, Lance Ito. Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots. |
