Any argument/debate regarding the area commonly referred to as Palestine/Israel should start from a general knowledge of the history that reflects the region...

even though ancient history may be discounted as irrelevant to modern times, recent history ( the last 100-150 years ) of the foreign occupation of Palestine has significance to what transpires today...

recent Jewish immigration into Palestine began as early as the 1800's in a concerted effort to populate the area to gain control over land and resources...

1876- Palestinian deputies from Jerusalem attend the first Ottoman parliament in Istanbul

1878-Petah Tikva, the first modern Zionist agricultural settlement, established in Palestine

1881- Ottoman government announces permission for foreign Jews to settle throughout the Ottoman Empire, excluding Palestine.

1882- First wave of 25,000 Zionist immigrants enters Palestine, coming mainly from Eastern Europe. Baron Edmond de Rothschild of Paris begins financial backing of Jewish colonization of Palestine. Ottoman government adopts policy allowing Jewish pilgrims and businessmen to visit Palestine but not to settle there. Ottoman government informs Jewish leadership in Constantinople that it views Zionist colonization in Palestine as a political problem.

1891- German Jewish millionaire, Baron Maurice de Hirsh, founds Jewish Colonization Association (JCA).

1897- First Zionist Congress in Switzerland issues the Basle Program calling for the establishment of a "home for the Jewish people in Palestine". It also establishes the World Zionist Organization (WZO) to work to that end.

1903- Second wave of Zionist mass immigration to Palestine begins.

1917- Balfour Declaration. British Secretary of State Balfour pledges British support for a "Jewish national home in Palestine".

1922- First British census of Palestine shows population of 757,182, with 78% Muslim, 11% Jewish and 9.6% Christian.

1924-1928- Fourth wave of 67,000 Zionist immigrants, over 50% from Poland, increases Jewish population of Palestine to 16% of total. Registered Jewish land ownership (1928) totals 4.2% of area of country.

1931- Second British census of Palestine shows total population of 1,035,154 with 73.4% Muslim, 16.9% Jewish and 8.6% Christian.

1940-1945- Arrival of over 60,000 Zionist immigrants, including 20 - 25,000 who have entered the country illegally, increases Jewish population in Palestine to 31% of total. Registered Jewish land ownership rises to 6% of area of country. President Truman asks British Prime Minister Clement Attlee to grant immigration certificates allowing 100,000 Jews into Palestine. Large-scale illegal Jewish immigration into Palestine resumes under Haganah control.

Most of whom had no ancestral right at all to Palestine , and the rights of most of the others , if such right ever existed in the first place , was extinguished by their ancestors when they immigrated voluntarily across the Mediterranean to Europe with the Muslim conquest .

Wikipedia is not the Internet bible...it's just an open source reference tool that ANYONE can edit...you really have to be critical of what so-called facts you use .

You'll notice that I used two ' different ' independent sources for my information...both in total agreement with each other.

It was supported by the University of São Paulo who , as far as I am aware, has no connections to Israel or Palestine.

That is why I used 2 sources and not just one...one to verify the other.

Muslim Conquest???? The Babylonians exiled the Jews in 587 BC. Romans did the same in 70AD.
