Having known a few republican women who are pro choice but because of Roe v. Wade they are not afraid of voting for pro-life candidates, and with the risk of new justices being picked by those pro-life candidates, what is your opinion?

Sorry about the way some of the questions are phrased. I know it seems rather slanted to a conservative viewpoint (at least I think) but I didn't want to get into the terms pro-life and pro-choice (they are loaded words, as it implies someone is pro-death or against a mother's will)

A potential Supreme Court Nominee should have to answer any and all questions, except those that might concievably come before the justice during thier tenure on the Supreme Court. To that end thier view on Abortion should neither be asked or noted in any proceeding.

Einstein's "Theory of Relativity" is still being challenged to this day, but by consensus Global Warming is a fact... that's REAL science at work, why didn't Albert just go that route?

Strictly IMO here. It would not be a major criteria for me....
but I would preferr a judge that did not see it as a question of federal regulation.

Bingo. Exactly right. I've always considered a President's promise not to appoint pro-life/choice judges to be a violation of the separation of powers.

A president who does that is interpreting the constitution on a narrow issue, when the executive branch has no business interpreting anything besides agency regulations.

This is an important issue. The high court has always been reluctant to overturn previous rulings. That being the case it will probably take 2 or even 3 more justices who disagree with Roe before they overturn the precedent. Considering the court it is possible that the next president will have to appoint 3 justices.

As for me I see the fetus as human life. As human I have to grant rights to the fetus. With that basis I have to view weigh the value of the rights of both mother and child. I do value the right to life as the most important we have. With that basis the rights of the child do outweigh that of the mother. There are rare unfortunate instances when the life of the mother is at stake. In that case there are conflicting rights which call for difficult choices to be made.

I voted other because the question of such an operation should not be regulated by the justice system or their opinions.

The laws allowing for abortions should stand as it simply means there is no law stateing it is not legal.

I think a few laws might be allowed concerning details surrounding such medical procedures.

(1) Can a doctor perform such an operation on a minor without consent from the parents or legal guardians?

(2) Can doctors perform operation without making known to the client what other options they might concider (adoption - etc.)

(3) Can doctors advertise services in such a manner as to encourage more people to pay them to do it.

(4) Should the use of intimadation be unlawful if it encourages someone to seek that option (where-as they might otherwise not).

(5) Should the clinic or doctor be allwoed to market the organs of a late term abortion.
