That was past tense, Vic. The point was that there WERE a lot of people who demanded those records when we were told they were missing, and my question was did you support them THEN! It was to contrast your incessant demand that Kerry produce records on the strength of the Swift Boat people, especially when it is THEY who should provide the proof when they made the accusation. After all if they are so secure in their charges they must have more than their unquestionably biased observations to back them up.

Again, I'm no Kerry supporter and not knowledgeable about things military but I AM fairly confident Kerry didn't waltz in to his CO's office and say he deserves the Bronze Star, and get it without some corroborating evidence to indicate he deserved it.

In Kerry's case, you give the impression you can get a Bronze Star from a vending machine!

The "REDACTED - fixed quotes on previous reply" was because the quote function wasn't showing correctly. I found an end quote tag that never belonged and removed it, which fixed the post (as far as showing the quote boxes).

Give me a few moments, and I will remove those quotes from my reply (you may want to do the same to your reply, if you want to remove all attributions of them to you). If I miss any, let me know.

As to my "who uses them and who doesn't", I stand by my assertion that all insults made by me were responses to those you admit to making. A defensive stand and an offensive one are quite different.

What answers would you expect from this pointless question?

Although I am neither a Kerry defender or particularly appalled by the Swift Boat guys' accusations, as you see this stuff every election and if the media hadn't blown it up it would be another non-issue, I would of course side with the vet's if the claim was proven with any credibility.

Having said that I would also require the evidence to be from a source OTHER than some partisan web site. I don't want to see you post "here is the evidence", with a link to "wehatekerry.org" or something like that. Personally, I would welcome the truth in any case.
