i don't see how the democrats represent an extremist position to be honest. especially if you remove the non-issue of gay marriage from the picture. is it extremist to tax the rich? that's been going on for years, even under republican presidencies. is it extreme to want a balanced budget? extreme to point out that we are the ONLY, and i repeat ONLY, industrialized country that doesn't have nationalized healthcare? extreme to place value in due process, diplomacy and respect towards traditional allies? i'm a registered republican, and i don't see how the dems are extremist whatsoever. i do recall, however, that bush once said that god was on his side. that's the sort of loony shit i'd expect to hear from an islamofascist. (note, i know you aren't a bush supporter.) | |

Also we know form history that at least one candidate was shot while making a speech and so the security would pull out anyone who even might be remotely a threat just to insure more absolute safty for the President. They are very paranoid you know. Now they could have just asked you to remove the button and let you on in. That would have been the nice thing to do (or allowed you to explain your reason for attending a Bush speech wearing a Kerry button). But security people are just ordered to carry out a policy and that is what they do "by the book" and exceptions to the rules are not even entertained. But anyway your kids got to learn a lot about modern politics even if was not like what you learned as a kid. Technosoul. |
