Is it the two point bump McCain got in the Gallup daily tracking poll since announcing his VP pick or just the entertainment value?
Two point bump? Check out General Election: McCain vs. Obama. And here's the latest Gallup tracking: Gallup Daily: Obama Hits 50% for First Time. Polls will be polls.

I wouldn't get all wet in the shorts just yet!
I don't get why McCain is only a few points behind Obama.

Speaking of wet shorts, inquiring minds want to know, does McCain use Depends?

The old man probably needs an extra layer now, since he picked such a hot VP!

This is unfolding like a soap opera or comedy. Hollywood couldn't make this stuff up. I can hardly wait for the next closet of shoes to drop all over McCain's head. Clearly, McCain is a hopeless incompetent.
Aye, but probably yet another mushbrained successful candidate for the US presidency.

With Palin revelations, McCain's gamble is clearer - Los Angeles Times

Quote:
(...) The youthful mother of five whose placement on the ticket was meant to reinforce traditional values has now revealed that her unmarried teenage daughter is pregnant -- a piece of information that the family and the campaign said they had hoped to keep private.

The woman introduced to America as a reform-minded Washington outsider who opposed the infamous "bridge to nowhere" -- the symbol of McCain's hatred of wasteful spending -- originally supported its construction. The governor who in her introductory speech decried the practice of budgetary "earmarks" sought, as the state's chief executive and as mayor of Wasilla, hundreds of millions of dollars in such federal funding for local projects.

Moreover, Palin has now retained a lawyer to represent her in a controversy the McCain campaign said it had fully researched -- Palin's role in dismissing a state police official who had refused to fire a trooper who divorced Palin's sister.

On Monday, the McCain campaign dispatched lawyers to Alaska in a move described as an attempt to manage a growing crowd of journalists who have traveled there to inspect Palin's background. But the move raises the impression that the McCain campaign didn't know everything about his No. 2 and is now racing to learn what it can while trying to avoid tough questions about the Arizona senator's decision-making process.

(...) Critics continue to question why McCain, after months of assailing Democratic nominee Barack Obama as lacking foreign policy experience, would tap a running mate who has been governor for less than two years and before that was mayor of Wasilla, population 7,000.

(...) Palin could face questions in on other facets of her past, such as her 1990s membership in the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that has pushed for more than 30 years to give Alaskans a vote on whether to secede from the union.

Another potentially troublesome story line is Palin's past support for federally funded projects that she now claims to have opposed -- a key piece of her reformist image to which McCain was most attracted.

As mayor of Wasilla, Palin made regular trips to Washington seeking federal aid. The city received $26.9 million in earmarks during her tenure from fiscal year 2000 to 2003, according to the nonpartisan Taxpayers for Common Sense, which tracks pork barrel spending.

The jokes just keep on coming! Now the Republicans are accusing the Democrats of "launching sexist attacks against Palin." Hey, Republican'ts! It was the Democrats who had a super-qualified woman campaigning, and almost winning, the Democratic nomination for President. Sarah Palin even praised Hillary Clinton.

Why would John McCain choose a VP who can't take the heat? If I said, "If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen!" would that be sexist?

Do John McCain and the rest of the Republicans understand the term "token female"? Now that's sexist.

Here's a neat little newspaper poll in the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, Sarah Palin's home town paper.

To the question, "Is Gov. Sarah Palin a good choice for Sen. John McCain as his vice-presidential running mate on the Republican ticket?" 51% say "No!" 42% say "Yes!".

First decision as Presidental nominee? Round goes to Obama.
Oh yeah, how do you come to that conclusion? Obama ignored 18 million votes in his own party by not putting Hillary on the ticket with him. If he would have done that...game over, but he didn't and left the door wide open for McCain. Instead, the candidate of "change" nominated a man who has been in Washington since Nixon was president!! What kind of change is that exactly?

Meanwhile, McCain says " you want change? Here it is." And in walks Sarah Palin. I'm not sure if she's even been to Washington! So obviously a real candidate of change. Once again proving that Obama can only talk the talk, while McCain walks the walk!

Maybe what you meant to say was "First BAD decision as Presidential nominee goes to Obama." Because he blew it!!

Again, can someone answer why they would vote for someone who will statisically be dead before the end of their second term?

Round 1 to Obama! Why? Because on his first decision, Obama put his country before his political career. No one questioned Joe Biden's credentials to be Vice President and, if the worst should happen to Obama, the President.

McCain put his personal political ambitions before his country when he chose Sarah Palin. He picked her to 'galvanize' the extremist religious element of the Republican base--a base he needs to have any hope of winning, or so the story goes. Millions of women, independents, and ordinary Americans are questioning Palin's credentials to be VP. After learning about her, millions dread her becoming President, and rightly so.

Obama made a wise decision in order to serve his country. McCain made a bad decision for the country to serve his and the Republicans' crassest poltiical ambitions.

Round 1 to Obama! That is if the competition between Obama and McCain is about choosing the best person to be President for all Americans, not just a lunatic fringe.

Yes. Because McCain will find Jesus! And, be saved! And for millions of Americans, it's Jesus and their personal salvation, not America and other Americans, that matter. Everyone else is doomed to Hell and Damnation, brother. When McCain dies--Praise the Lord--President Palin will cleanse America, brother, cleanse America of its sins and sinners.

America will liberate the Holy Land with its Christian soldiers. The Muslim heathens will fall by the millions washed in their own sinful blood. President Palin will cleanse our schools and libraries of sin and science--filth and Darwin. Praise the Lord. May he take McCain into his loving bosom soon. President Palin will take all God's gifts from the Earth and the Waters--the oil, the game animals, the fish, the whales and seals--and serve them up for Christian pleasure and consumption and all will be well, all will be plenty, all who are born again will be rich beyond their imaginations.

A vote for McCain is a vote for Jesus! Jesus wants you to vote McCain for the coming of President Palin.

It just gets better and better. As governor Sarah Palin Slashed Funding for Teen Moms.

Palin and her family are going to give Bristol "love and support." But Governor Palin isn't about to provide any love and support for other people's teens in trouble. They can just go to Hell where their sinful little dirty sex-ed bodies belong! Praise Jesus!

LOL, first have you heard Palin bitching? NO!
Second, have you seen Palin crying to get sympathy? NO!

Funny with all the skeletons in Obama's closet, the liberal media choose to focus on Obama!

Nice assumption. You know what they say about assumptions, see the first 3 letters. The jury is still out on if she can take the heat. Her speech tonight will be the the first test. The debate with Biden with be the Final exam. Hold off your disingenious attacks until then!

I was watching two democrat talking heads on TV last night going on about the fact that her husband had been arrested for DWI, something like 20 years ago, like it was some kind of big deal. Had they read Obamas book they would have known he was doing coke 20 years ago, and hes running for President of the US, not the second spouse.

Well that's because the media is so right-winged. Damn I can't even type that with a straight face.

I'm sorry, but I'd agree with you if you were right.

I'm looking forward to the day when either Governor Palin or Senator McCain stand before the national press and start answering tough questions. McCain, the war hero, chickened-out on an interview by Larry King of all people. If he's scared of Larry King, what's he going to do in front of Jon Stewart? (Hey, I knows he's a comedian, but he's also the best journalist in Amerika today.)

I thinks she's an interesting choice, not necessarily one that's perfectly-suited for the job she's running for, but still, pretty interesting.
