according to this article bush is taking powerful anti-depressants and has wide mood swings and obscene outbursts, and that he shows signs of untreated alcoholism.

If that's true it would explain a lot. At least we can see him as a man with a problem instead of just a jackass. Mental problems and alcoholism can be treated. Being a clueless punk cannot.

Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reinforces my belief that people are idiots.

Tubb prescribed the anti-depressants after a clearly-upset Bush stormed off stage on July 8, refusing to answer reporters' questions about his relationship with indicted Enron executive Kenneth J. Lay.

“Keep those motherfuckers away from me,” he screamed at an aide backstage. “If you can’t, I’ll find someone who can.”
That doesnt sound very presidential. Oh Well, what do you expect from Cheneys puppet?
Hey, do you suppose Young will change his signature finally?

God talks to him, he says he doesn't have to answer to the people, he can't handle even mild criticism, jokes about killing people...

Sure seems sane to me.

being president puts a lot of pressure on a person. nixon went virtually insane, we know hitler went loopy. bush is under an abnormal amount of pressure - most of the world is against him and his policies. i'm not judging here (i will in other threads) but that would have to take its toll.

There's a book out by a psychologist that goes into great detail about a lot of this and how he's very dangerous to have in the position of president given his disorders and such.

I need to remember where the article is to get the title and the author. I wish everyone would read it and vote someone healthier into office!

G, these disorders existed prior to presidency pressures. It's just who he is, not the position doing it to him.

Dr. Justin Frank in his book Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President. Dr. Frank diagnosed the President as a “paranoid meglomaniac” and “untreated alcoholic” whose “lifelong streak of sadism, ranging from childhood pranks (using firecrackers to explode frogs) to insulting journalists, gloating over state executions and pumping his hand gleefully before the bombing of Baghdad” showcase Bush’s instabilities.
