| Igneous Magma Posts: 257 | Libertarian Party I have returned to the Libertarian Party as I am fed up with the crap handed out by the Democrats and Republicans. Join me in getting our freedoms and liberties back. The convention is on CSPAN as we speak and it is the most stimulating political movement I've seen since 1964. |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,663 | Oh yeah, I heard his name mentioned once on CNN during their coverage but the host quickly changed the topic back to Obama and Clinton. Some pundant said "well, we can always vote for Bob Barr" and the Host did not ask for or give any elaborations concerning that remark. Was Bob Barr that guy who was asked to resign form another party for some connection to a scandle of some sort... I might be wrong but I recall something about it in the foggy past? Or did he loose some bid as a canadate elsewhere and lost? Cannot pin down what it was for sure. Bob Barr - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Did some research quick like... he was one of the people who attempted but failed to impeach President Bill Clinton for telling a fib about his private sexual behavior. I would not vote for him no matter what kind of policy the Libs had before he arrived. |

Too bad for the real Libertarians. The trend is that canadates do not really represent the majority of the old timers of the parties they now wish to represent, apparently. More apparent on the conservative side of the street.

Destroying America one Volconvo post at a time. Religious controversies are always productive of more acrimony and irreconcilable hatreds than those which spring from any other cause. |

Perhaps we should just have one party with lots of people seeking nomination. Then vote to eleminate the worse ones until we end up with the best of the last two evils.

| Igneous Magma Posts: 257 | Ron Paul's name was all over the LP convention. He ran for President as a Libertarian in the 1980s and did poorly. We all hope he will join us in the fight against the two-party system but he cannot until all the Primaries are over. The news coverage of the Primaries are covering only the Democrats but if we click on the State's sites they will have the results for the othe parties including the GOP. Bob Barr was not my choice as he changed his positions with regard to the defense of marrage bill (his bill) and his being pro-life. He backed the Patriot's act and that made me doubt his truth in advertising. But he is all we have at this time and if we can get Paul behind us, his percentage of votes might help us develop the perfect candidate for POTUS in 2012. I have been a Libertarian off and on for years. We need some strong action abainst our war-baiting 2-party system I will work for anyone running on the ticket. The LP platform is back to the way Harry Browne planned and if we pull together we can keep it out of the hands of the neoconservatives and religious right. |

Bob Barr - The Libertarian Candidate He might not be a true libertarian, but he militant stance on the border and his support of the fair tax are very good qualities. Although it was hectic holiday weekend. I turned on CSPAN for a minute and saw Gravel speaking at it! Didn't he have a half-a$$ed run at the Democratic ticket? |

| Igneous Magma Posts: 257 | Gravel was the Ron Paul of the Democratic Party. We now have both unofficially (Paul) and both could work to our avantage. We must hold the LP away from the War actions of the GOP anf the socialistic actions of the Democrats. For me it is worth a shot at returning back to Liberty. That sounds like an old bromide but to me it is sink or swim for America at this time. The GOP and the Democrats seem to think the American people are too stupid to think for ourselves. Nonsense! We must push our individual independence on all Americans and show them that individual choices are the key to freedom. If they can't figure out right from wrong they should not vote. |
