The endangered Sonoran Pronghorn. Which is the 2nd fastest animal on earth and they can run as fast as 60 miles per hour. And they migrate between Mexico and the USA. The Sonona Pronghorn is the most important because their remaining numbers are so small, they gather in three places. Two locations in Mexico and one location in Arizona. Of course a number of rare birds but I will not mention them on my own assumption they can fly over a wall. Those are some of the rarer of the animals that migrate between the two countries as reported by respected envrionmental groups. I conducted my own inspection and also discovered a tiny species of the Toco Bell Dog also has been seen running back and forth, but I am trying to confirm all that facts about that investigation. In case you do not know that a Pronghorn is, it is a small deer. Sonoran Pronghorn - Defenders of Wildlife

The sledgehammer like use of the "Environmental Impact" canard to hinder the need to secure our borders from the criminal activity of illegal entry does very little to enhance the position of those who actually care about the environment. The fears of the impact of the Alaskan pipeline were shown to be wildly incorrect. So too, I suspect, are any such claims in this case

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 8,663 | My solution would be to enlarge the wildlife area dedicated to those animals that are rare in the USA and still build the wall, but as close to the actural river as possible. The animals in question might have a wide range between the two countries but those animals in queston do not absolutly depend on migration for survivial, we just need to make sure the have a wide enough range on our side so their population can grow larger. If we greatly cut down on the millions of people who continue to cross back and forth over the boarder that would give those animals more isolation from human irriatation (as they fear humans) and give the animals a greater sense of security also in their more isolated environment. The birds might even like to use the wall as a neat place to build a nest. Cats of all speicies like to have areas to do their nightly patrols in, that is their way of life, but crossing a river does not seem like something they would like all that much concidering that most cats do not being in water. Being that some animals might use the river for water the gov should provide watering ponds for animals seperated from the river by the wall. Those animals in question prefer isolation form people and so the less people hiking and driving across the boarder through the National Parks the better it is for those animals and birds. Plus those imagrating leave lots of junk along the way, cans and bottles and garbage that does ruin the natural beauty of those wildlife areas. That is my opinon and I am a armchair environmentalist. If I were ever going to vist that National Park on a photographic mission I would not want to deal with drug smugglers or crowds of campers on their way to look for employment. The best way to keep wildlife areas wild is to keep out those who do not respect the envrionment, and that would include those immagrants, drug smugglers, and yes... the boarder patrol agents. A good wall would help to reduce all that human stomping around in those areas, and their vehicle traffic. |
