My own model nation would be Denmark. It seems like the Danes have the closest thing to a perfect society. The crime rate there is among the lowest in the world. Danish prisons are humane and safe. There is a small gap between rich and poor. I only wish my country was the same.

Beogenville.

Officially Papua New Guinea owns the island but they drove out the quarrying contractors 30 years ago, keeping the island to themself. When the PNG forces came to reclaim shortly after, they had no modern weapons to fight back, especially against PNG choppers and gunboats. One guy got lucky with his spear and caught one of the helicopter gunners on the side of a copter, and he dropped his machine gun. They've been building an arsenal ever since, and still own the island. They collected all the pieces from the former quarry and rigged a generator using the rivers around them. Its only small, a few hundred, so its able to conduct a system of government where everyone sits around and agree's on a course of action. All the men are trained guerrilas, only doing it part time though, so as well as keeping the PNG from retaking the island, it stops any power struggles from happening, like MAD on a much smaller scale. But because of the small size of the community, it is a community (as opposed to western ones where we use the word but people hardly talk to other people in theirs, let alone pull together), and eveyone works together anyway.

"Which Nation In The World Has The Best Government?"

A rather pointless question, this, since there's no definition of what a 'good' government is.

I think he was assuming we all were putting "In your opinion..." before his question.

First of all, why would that be the best government? The word "utopian" connotes, if not denotes, impracticality along with it.

And secondly, the question was which government is the best - there is no utopian dictatorship in existence on this Earth. Perhaps substituting apocalyptic for utopian would be appropriate. :)

Sodfather, Impenitent was baiting. Don't take it seriously.
. . . whenever any government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute a new government, laying its foundations on such principles and organizing its powers in such forms as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

"First of all, why would that be the best government?"

because it allows the citizens to move freely, even granting them enough freedom to leave the country...

remember the berlin wall? the ussr needed to keep all those commie wannabees out... the coast of florida is polluted with people trying to swim to havana... can you see the lines of people wanting to buy boats to sail to vietnam, north korea and china?

socialist apocalyptic dictatorships?

perhaps... but apocalyptic is so negative and everyone knows socialist slave farms are utopias...

I will answer it as it was asked - subjectively. Keep in mind I tend to go with Socrates here, the best country in the world IMHO is the USA, if I DIDN'T think it was the best country in the world I wouldn't be here, I'd move where-ever I thought that was. Why would I living in a free nation that allows me to leave stay here if I didnt feel it was the best? ^__^

It must be nice to live in your bubble.

You know most people who live in really awful countries want to move, and their government won't stop them, its because us with decent countries won't let them in.

Hey you're free to disagree wirth me but theres no reason to out and out insult me, that was uncalled for. I could move if I thought another country had a better government, but I don't - if I did I would move there, thats all I'm saying. Sheesh.
