Why Obama would make the best president...

Andrew Sullivan of the Atlantic posted a letter from Barack Obama to Chairman Bernanke and Secretary Paulson sent over a year ago about the then impending mortgage crisis. See Obama's Prescient Judgment Again. It's indeed as prescient as Obama's Iraq war speech.

A true lost opportunity it would be if Americans fail to elect Obama their next president.

Ok, I'm impressed.

Alas, if we elected our Presidents on their prescience and intellectual insight, Al Gore would have been our president these last 8 years, wouldn't he.

Do some research on what happened in the 2000 election, you'll find something interesting. anyway, off topic.

Lol, those foreclosures were needed and the economy will balance out in better shape because of it. Homes will lower in prices and the low income people can afford them. Besides those who lost the homes could not afford them for a reason, and that would be their own dam fault.

Screwing with our economy will create worse long-term havoc.

Whom do you think is screwing with the economy? Certainly not the poor who are losing their homes.

Didn't Al Gore win the popular vote in 2000? Which means, most Americans did not vote for Bush in 2000.

Yes and no... there's a lot of folks out there who should have known they were getting in way over their heads, although that certainly doesn't absolve the lenders who equally knew they were getting folks in over their heads.

Let's not get carried away, Derek. Home prices are going to have to drop considerably before low income people can afford to buy. The American middle class has been shrinking for a generation... many going into the upper incomes, many more going into the lower incomes. The average American hasn't been able to afford a home for some time now.

So, how is electing somebody who intends to put people into a substantially higher tax bracket going to "save America"?

If the Liberals get their way, some people may find themselves in the 80% tax bracket Bill Clinton Joked about on his way out of office. Ahg, what a great it'll be then.
