Lol.. "giving up" ?? I didn't say dying. As for our being critical about our government.. ha-ha. Very, very little of protests against bush-cheney & the War are shown here. The outspoken here are blasted & called traitors. Too many red necked ignorant people are sucked in by the trash spewed by the corporate owned media.
Whoa, take it easy.

However, I never said you were dying, I said you had given up on the political process. You don't say what should be done to fix it, you just say we're all screwed. At least from what I read in the post I quoted. Could have missed something.

I am not criticizing you for being against the war or whatever, I'm criticizing you because you are as aware of the faults of society as every teenage kid I go to school with. That doesn't help fix the process. I mean it is so much easier to whine about something then to fix it.

Oh and I'm am happy to be living in an up and coming country, but as you guys are still number one...

Again I am not saying you shouldn't criticize government or media or whatever, just tell us how to fix it or it's just...complaining.

Also, I did respond to more then just that. If you could find the time to respond to my post in it's entirety, I would appreciate it.

It is a win win situtation for the Democrats. We might have the first female president or the first black president (acturally Obama is half white and half black). To say he is the first black president it not giving his mother much credit.

Those folks would shift the tide of domestic policy in favor of the working class and the poor people, and they would pursue a more peaceful solution to international conflicts.

If McCain wins then he would drag us down deeper into the endless war in Iraq, he would bring the nation closer to economic doomsday, and so after four years of "more bushism" the Republican Party would be so dissliked that it would take them 30 years to recover, giving the green light to Democrats and 3rd party canidates to win win win for years to come. The ONLY chance the Republicans have for survival of their party is if McCain should loose and then at least they can hope that Obama or Clinton would not keep their promises to bring about reform.

Wars help the economy after a while. Thats one of two basic reasons we got out of the Great Depression.

That is a good point and it did cross my mind when I made my post. The military-industral complex did save America from the Great Depression and it sparked the industrial revolution, in great part because women joined the work place environment as the men were mostly overseas fighting Hitler and Japan, etc.

It is still one of our main exports, but creating wars to keep that momentum going is sort of problematic don't you think? But can we now survive without that export and did the war in Iraq really do our economy as much good as what happened in the 1930s and 1940s? Or are we getting a reverse effect somehow? And why?

Is it because we are no longer willing to live poor to support making more bullets, bombs, and all those other weapons? Have we exported to man of those kinds of jobs? It seem that wars no longer are having much of a big bang in our economy by creating new jobs.

The great steal making industry in Indiana was the backbone of our military constuction, now they import a lot of steal at a cheaper cost.
As Hillary Clinton spoke about a few days ago.

Also as the world wars closed out we converted quickly to making domestic cars, electric freezers, washing machines, and lots of other things such as TV sets. Transferring military technology for domestic purposes. Now it seems we are letting all that slip away like water through our hands. Who's hands? Those in Washington DC?

Then we got a big boost with the Kennedy space program to go to the moon, then that program was shut down - but the 1950s were the crowning glory of that upgrade in our economy with lots of jobs, as unions came in and credit cards appeared, and medical insurance was promoted.

Then the 1960s and the great anti-materialism, anti-establishment and anti-war movements came into play. Wham bam thank you Nam. The rest was sort of downhill.

Whatcha' think now?

I don't think that's an invalid argument (I'm 17). However, at the end of the day, the government needs some money and it needs to get it somewhere, so I'm not too upset about it.
It is. At your age you don't know what your don't know yet. Living on your own makes you see things differently.

Fine. I can't argue against the experience thing.

I was talking about how "Corporate taxation does this! And raising taxes on the rich and corporate taxation go hand in hand!"

It would best to support your argument with numbers right?

Otherwise it's harder for me to believe.

Vote Democrat to save America?!?!?

ROFLMAO.....

Democrats and Republicans are equally guilty for why this nation is where it is.....

Picking between the lesser of two great evils is still picking evil, still will get you more of the same, and just turns over corruption from one corrupt party to another corrupt party, both of which have political agendas to destroy national, state and individual sovereignty.

No thanks..... I'll vote for sanity, which implies I will be voting for neither of the major parties candidates.
Yet you were hell bent on supporting a fraud in Ron Paul. Ron Paul states platform was that the US government has no business in affairs of the people and in business. He preached against wasteful spending, however, with the pork barrel numbers out he is a "pig!" Not the biggest pig I will give you, but he is a bigger pig than many of the people he was running against:

[b]Ron Paul [/B - ]$22.7 million- middle of the list not sure the number- I was very surprised. You would figure this guy would practice what he preach and spend nothing (like McCain did), but I guess he is just a politician. There were 276 representative that spent less, including 10 that spent $0

Here is a list of '08 presidential candidate that spent less than Ron Paul and the number of space they beat him by:
Tancredo - $17.6 - 52 lower
Duncan - $15.9 - 75 lower
Kucinich - $8.1 - 182 lower
Graves - $6.7 - 196 lower
McCain - $0

Who is the fattest Pig- Meaning Biggest Wasteful Pork Barrel Spender?

Ghook, tell me exactly why pork barrel is bad?

I've learned about it in my politics class. I know it isn't great in overdose, but some isn't terrible.

So clarify for my why pork barrel is bad, for my sake.

This is what pork barrel spending government spending for projects that are intended primarily to benefit particular constituents or campaign contributors (its different than other spending). It is pandering to a special interest in which the funds get diluted and wasted on projects that are purely political.

Quote:
it involves funding for government programs whose economic or service benefits are concentrated in a particular area but whose costs are spread among all taxpayers.
Citizens Against Government Waste:
Big Dig failures threaten federal funding - The Boston Globe

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) and the Congressional Porkbusters Coalition developed seven criteria for a project to qualify as pork:

(1) Requested by only one chamber of Congress;
(2) Not specifically authorized;
(3) Not competitively awarded;
(4) Not requested by the President;
(5) Greatly exceeds the President’s budget request or the previous year’s funding;
(6) Not the subject of congressional hearings; or
(7) Serves only a local or special interest.

One of the most famous pork projects that a Republican was asking for is the "bridge to nowhere".

TCS Transportation Program: Gravina Bridge

Some projects are requested so that more jobs can be created for a certain state, or to create a tourest attraction or speical monument, etc.

This is partly because someone in the sentate or congress wants to represent his state by getting his state more federal money.

Our representive was able to get some federal funding to set aside more land areas in our deserts as a wildlife reservation. As one example. Some of the projects are used to take care of real problems such as new highways and so forth, which are used by everyone who visits the state (also).

I personally support some pork for the state who got the most pork during the Bush years. That money would be used to build a big PIG MONUMENT in the heart of Texas.

Ok windy it is! Sorry I didn't do a proper response to your post... kind of pressed for time, but I will, hopefully tomorrow.

You seem better informed than the average kids here, although many of us know quite a bit about what is wrong.. and have ideas of how to fix.. or at least get onto the correct road & direction.. it doesn't seem possible, not with the apathy & well.. really, ignorance of our people.

This guy here: Pat Buchanan Book Hits Amazon No. 1 Spot ::: Patrick J. Buchanan - Official Website - Pat Buchanan, seems to know quite a lot of it.. and I think Barrack Obama would be a great President.. but.. eek, I am almost afraid for Obama.. people here are kinda weird.. you wouldn't believe..!! So much violence & gun lovers. And the elections , no wonder people don't bother voting.

That's all for now.. no time..!!

education make over!

But really, I think if politicians stopped treating people like five year olds, and the media started going beyond the snappy one liners, it would be a step in the right direction.

But first people have to grow up. To do that, we make people take an introductory course in government before voting. That and a politician that isn't afraid to tell it's public to act it's own age.

It's specific right? Needs to fill the following requirements...

* Requested by only one chamber of Congress;
* Not specifically authorized;
* Not competitively awarded;
* Not requested by the President;
* Greatly exceeds the President’s budget request or the previous year’s funding;
* Not the subject of congressional hearings; or

Ok, next question, how did Obama and Hillary use pork barrel. Was it a road to nowhere, or was it something else?

Not sure if this will answer your question, but it does answer who is the new fattest pig in the room. Hint her husband used to be President!

Or she might be a young woman instead of a little girl? Whatever, we can use a wig when making our new national image. That would represent our "make over" American way of life.

After all if a guy is in touch with his female side then that would be like getting Hillary and Obama in one package.

Also, why have real wars when we got all these vidio games made in China?
