![]() Freedom Fighter Location: Belgrade, Serbia Posts: 46 | Haradinaj released by the Hague tribunal! After the tribunal`s shocking decision to release Ramush Haradinaj, approved war criminal, related to terrible crimes against humanity, the question is: ``Is justice equal for all?``(referring to many Serbian people being trialled, prosecuted and sentenced by Hague), and ``Did the Hague lost it`s purpose and lawfulness, by releasing man, who is responsible for terrible crimes, deaths of innocent people, torching, human trafficking, and other bestialities!?`` ``History will remember two types of heroes: ones ready to sacrifice own life for their ideal, and the others ready to sacrifice other people`s life for their ideal.`` - Nikolaj Velimirovic |

![]() Throbbing Member Location: Old Europe Posts: 7,134 | D, this thread might have gotten a bit further if it didn't look so much like a platform for rant. Also if you had posted a link of some sort, such as this: BBC NEWS | Europe | Hague court acquits Kosovo ex-PM "Another ex-KLA commander, Lahi Brahimaj, was sentenced to six years for torture and cruel treatment." If the Hague Tribunal is biased, as you suggest, why did it convict Brahimaj? "I wish I was as cocksure of anything as Tom Macaulay is of everything." -- Viscount Melbourne |

As for the Hague tribunal, my opinion is that that court has a very strong political background, and it does not possess the most important quality every court in the world needs- outside influence immunity. Let`s picture this: Slobodan Milosevic was being trialled in the Hague for, amongst other accusations, crimes against Albanian population on Kosovo. NATO bombed Serbia (in that time still Yugoslavia) because of alleged Serbian crimes against- Albanian population. Now, my question is, say: Would it be possible for the Tribunal to set loose Milosevic, eventually (we know he died before the end of trial), if the accusations were found void, or if there weren`t enough proves, or for any other reason? I say no, because it would indirectly mean that the story about human catastrophe on Kosovo is a little bit overblown, and, more important, NATO bombed Serbia without sufficient reason! And that would put some former West leaders in not such a pleasant position... Anyway, my strong belief is that Haradinaj is a criminal, terrorist and a murderer. He himself has admitted some of his crimes, in his book he wrote ``We were attacking Serbian forces non stop. At any place day and night. No hiding. Everyday, we`ve been killing Serbian policemen[...] I was just a little child when I realized that the only solution to Albanian and Kosovar problem is force. Since my childhood I was preparing for a final battle with the Serbs. I`ve joined OVK (KLA- my interception) in the year 1994. Then, accompanied by some compatriots from Switzerland, who were supporting my ideas, I` ve went over Albania to Kosovo, carrying arms``. Can you tell me, what would happen to a man living in your country and writing similar stuff? Of course, he didn`t mention all of his crimes. Killing civilians, rape, selling prisoners` organs! Former Hague Chief prosecutor, Karla Del Ponte, said Haradinaj undoubtedly ``has blood on his hands``. She stated in her book that the hole trial was followed by irregularities and controversy. There were witnesses so frighten that they were ready to spend 10 years in prison, which is the punishment for not coming to testify in certain circumstances. Why were they afraid? Because 9 key witnesses for the Haradinaj trial were killed during the prosecution, 1 was hit by car, 7 were killed by fire arms, and 1 was stabbed! Two of the killed witnesses were Kosovar policemen, and three of them (witnesses) were in a Protection program. The international security forces on Kosovo refused to help in Tribunal investigation, which is also very awkward. Haradinaj`s defense was the most expensive one in the history of Hague. Where did he get the money? From his earlier criminal activities, of course. He was wounded in a clash of two criminal gangs in Kosovo, few years ago. That`s the today`s story of Kosovo, their politicians, and their ``liberators``. But that`s the story for some other day... You`ve asked me about Brahimaj conviction? Interesting, Brahimaj is a close relative of Haradinaj, but not only that, Haradinaj was his chief in command. Have you ever heard for a term ``chain of responsibility``? See, General Ratko Mladic didn`t kill people in Srebrenica. He ordered others to do that, ant that`s way HE is guilty, and HE is prosecuted for that. The same thing for above mentioned, Milosevic. Haradinaj had a ``jurisdiction`` over a Pec, Decani, Djakovica zone (he himself wrote that in many spots in his book). In that area, 200 people were killed and/or kidnapped, and 50 000 people were banished, by Albanian forces in three years. Who`s responsible? And if, Brahimaj was convicted, how come the person he`s responsible to can be found innocent!? And the last thing I have to say for now is, that the killings and molesting are following Haradinaj`s surrounding, as well, his close relatives especially are related to such activities. Besides mentioned Brahimaj, his brother Daut was convicted to 5 years imprisonment by international court, for kidnapping and molesting 4 members of a paramilitary force, close to Ibrahim Rugova, with a lethal outcome. Modern genetics could add few words on this topic. After all this, I repeat: How can Hague tribunal continue to work, with all it`s authority preserved, after releasing one of the most notorious criminals in this part of Europe? And, for some people, less important question: How can their authorities expect that Serbs continue to co-operate when the court is so obviously discriminating them!? ``History will remember two types of heroes: ones ready to sacrifice own life for their ideal, and the others ready to sacrifice other people`s life for their ideal.`` - Nikolaj Velimirovic | |
