On February 8, 2005: "seventy-five Palestinians, including seventeen innocent children, and fourteen Israelis, including two innocent children, were murdered. Two thousand Palestinians had been arrested and 2,306 checkpoints imposed. 8,700 acres of Palestinian land had been confiscated by the Israeli government and while the Palestinians honored the cease-fire, they were attacked 394 times. The so called disengagement from Gaza was just redeployment for the Israeli government maintained controls and all access to Gaza by land, sea, and air. Bargouthi documented that only 25 of the over 150 settlements would be dismantled, and only 8,475 of over 436,000 settlers [less than 2 percent of settlers] were evacuated and 12,800 new settlers moved into the West Bank — 50 percent more settlers than were evacuated." | Liberated thinker Location: New Mexican Alps Posts: 2,116 | My short take on a very delicate and difficult problem is no solution is possible unless Palestine settles on a stable government. It has been little more that a loose coalition of terrorist type bandits, and refugees, without any coherent policy? As some try to solve the problem these rogue groups shoot missiles into Israel and exist in a country without order? Its not nation but a violent uncontrolled rabble! How does anyone deal with such a chaotic mess? For starters the surrounding Arab countries should assist, but they don't. The oil wealthy countries of the same faith should help do away with the refugee camps and support a stable government. And probably a stronger group of mullahs who will soothe the Islamic hate of Jews. Even when Israel tried to lessen the impact of the illegal settlements it was met with more violence? Thus we play the fools with the time, and the spirits of the wise sit in the clouds and mock us. |

no "stable government" in Iraq. When you are constantly facing group punishment, things easily become chaotic. Grandpa h. News is something someone wants to suppress, everything else is advertising. - Lord Northcliffe, publisher of the Daily Mail | |

| Volcanic Erupter Posts: 3,066 | Settlements and Jerusalem indicate huge problems for both sides. I wish all interested parties are reasonable participants, and would be able to come with some decent solutions. In case of settlements, both sides - Israel and Palestine - must some to an agreement which settlement is going to be kept and/or replaced for another one. In case of Jerusalem ? If the Holy place(s) is/are more important than People (themselves), I wish I graduated the faculty of Psychology. Both sides would become my the best customers/patients :-) |
