![]() Molten Ash Posts: 68 | Could be but there is no reason to not believe he is just transferring power. In the end it really doesn't matter either way. It kind of irks me though that all of these people in south Fla despise Castro and his rule but they all bailed instead of trying to make a change and now they belittle the people who stayed. I don't get it. They were the ones who abandoned their families and friends and decided to run instead of trying to overthrow the government. |

| slipping sand Posts: 1,802 | I think hes been dead for a while... I had this theory many months ago after he stopped being seen and the government only had photos of him to "proof" he was alive.. (always wearing the same tracksuit even) What a piece of work is man! How noble in reason! The paragon of animals! And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me; no, nor woman neither.. |

To keep the country together, they continued to ride his body around cities in a closed carriage to seem like he still was in power. When the smell got too bad, they surrounded the cart with dying fish. Didn't last very long. My point was, this kind of trick doesn't last very long. So either we will know the truth soon...or Fidel is really just retiring. Don't forget this is all in good fun! "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." I know your type. You think, "I'll just get me a costume, rip off the neighborhood kids." Next thing you know, you've got a jet shaped like a skull with lasers on the front! -The Monarch |

Now that he has less power, there is less reason to kill him. Don't forget this is all in good fun! "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." Verbal Kint, "Usual Suspects" | |

| Sedimentary Rock Posts: 14 | Whilletal hit it on the head I think, it doesn't really matter if Castro took a long walk off a short pier, that fact of the matter is that he is no longer the dictator of Cuba. I could deffinatly see the Cuban government trying to hide the fact he's dead, however, for some of us younger people, Fidel Castro is synonomous with Cuba, preserving his memory would be an important gesture. The only thing separating holy writ from complete bullshit is your perspective. Its your only weapon, keep the safety off. |
