It's definitely time to break out the hip-waders! "Another prominent Clinton supporter from the civil rights era, Andrew Young, also defended Mrs. Clinton. “Hillary Clinton, first of all, has Bill behind her,” Mr. Young said on a recent Webcast devoted to African-American issues. 'And Bill is every bit as black as Barack.'" Those who may be familiar with Andy Young, he was not only part of the civil rights movement, he was the first black guy to be the American ambassador to the United Nations, he was a congresscritter, and he was mayor of Atlanta, Georgia. So, what happened that all of a sudden he's displayed a clear case of having a few scews loose? Or, is there some deep dark (as in black) secret in Bill Clinton's past (like maybe an ancestor that was a slave)? If Bill does have a black ancestor somewhere in his past, it still doesn't make him "every bit as black as Barack" since Barack's father, who is very definitely black, was from Africa - a genuine African immigrant to the United States. Or is dear old Andy saying that being black isn't about skin color but about something else: being a womanizing adulterer perhaps (as Bill was) or being on the politically correct side of "black issues" (as Bill and most Demoncrats claim to be - yet no other white Demoncrat is being called black; so, that can't be it). Andy Young's surreal statement reminds me of what some blacks here in Buffalo said about Obama, that "he isn't one of us" - yet they're champing at the bit to vote for Hillary, who is even less one of "them." "America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own." -John Quincy Adams - |

The fact of the matter is that there is this very large, very vocal group of blacks that do not want to assimilate and become just "Americans." They are going to continue to insist on holding themselves out to be a separate people - and play the racism/eternal victimhood cards that paternalistic white liberals taught them to play. Barack Obama doesn't represent the picture of blacks that must be kept to the forefront in order for the black community to continue to force whites to continue to feel guilty for America's racist past. And how the hell is Bill Clinton "every bit as black" as Barack Obama? "America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own." -John Quincy Adams -

But seriously, this just goes to show that this is all about name recognition. Why? Even if Bill Clinton was blacker than Barrack Obama, Bill Clinton isn't running for President. What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality? Last edited by Chaossaber314; Jan 18, 2008 at 05:03 pm.
