![]() Great Knower Of All Location: Maine Posts: 240 | John Kerry Endorses Barack Obama Sounding a call for unity and change, John Kerry endorsed Barack Obama for president Thursday in South Carolina, entrusting the Illinois senator to pick up where he left off and retake the White House for the Democrats. Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, in doing so snubbed former running mate John Edwards, but said he made his decision out of the belief that Obama is the best pick to strengthen the country’s spirit and image abroad. “He has a superb talent … to communicate the best of our hopes and aspirations for America and the world, and that is why Barack Obama has the greatest potential to lead a transformation, not just a transition,” Kerry told hundreds of supporters at the College of Charleston. His military record was bad mouthed and questioned and he never said "Whoa! have some respect. I was involved in a war. I did my job and then came back and protested about that conflict after becoming a civilian ." Isn't that what happened? He gave HIS medal for HIS sacrifice to make that statement before. Attacking someones military service while supposedly being all for our professional fighters? I was confused about how a proper response was not given to that particular incident in 2004. He just smiled and said some slogan or other..what did he say? what a letdown. Turns out he wasn't even trying. I'm not sure whether his endorsement is meant to be a good thing. The party leaders want Hillary, but they'll take whoever can win. |

This is the best message about democracy we could send the world right now. This hurts because I have supported Kucinch, and didn't like a comment Obama made about older people, however, Kuncinch just does not have the support of Obama, and historically what made Great men great, is the willingness of people to follow them. I think Kucinch acknowledged this in Iowa when he told his supports to back Obama. Kucinch knew he wasn't the getting votes needed to make a difference, and he would rather have Obama win than the other democratic candidates. Many important people are speaking in favor of Obama's leadership, including Bill Moyer doing interviews favorable to Obama. I am shocked by the number of people willing to follow Obama, and delighted to see a Black man so close to the presidency. I never thought I would see this in my life time. I think it would be an awesome healing of our country. One of our biggest problems is our history of slavery and racism. A Black president would a dramatic change for which we appear to be ready. At home and over seas, history has made this a potential golden moment for Obama. It is the wave of history that makes men Great, and the Great men are the ones who ride the wave to the top. | |

![]() The Cake is a lie... Location: St. Louis Posts: 2,284 | John Kerry is the direct example of why the primary system in this country is completely and utterly broken. Prior to the Iowa Caucus, Kerry was barely a blip. The media was salivating at the prospect of a Bush vs. Dean race. Then all of the sudden Kerry inexplicably pulls through in Iowa and gains the resulting momentum from the media to take the nomination. Hell, as I recall, he couldn't even be bothered to show up at the last debate before Iowa and was shown on a plasma screen. I'd be very interested to see what really went on behind closed doors during the Democratic Primary for the 2004 race. Nothing about that primary period made a bit of logical sense. What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality? |

| pregnant with truth Posts: 2,170 | I don't know what happened. I decided then and there that the dems were not providing the answer either. Just..confusion. You should know that I was arriving at these suspicions on my own. I didn't even have the internet until 2004. I spent the first 4 waking hours of most everyday reading the three papers available. Trying to answer question after question. I noticed a few things. There's FOX at one end and CNN on the other. Between them and the local news, basically the same big news stories with almost symmetrically opposite slants. In the papers. I'd put them up to eachother. The Bush campaign had domination of the op-ed back then. Does everyone agree? Are you being sarcastic about skull and bones? It seems if that stuff was so easily proven they wouldn't be secret societies. No doubt they be layin low now anyhow. Unlike myself. |

I mean Dean was the Hillary/Guiliani of 2004. What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality? |

| Liberated thinker Location: New Mexican Alps Posts: 1,977 | Athena...I suggest your Huffington Post blather is a stretch. To begin with it misdefines the military Industrial complex term? Our total industrial complex certainly exceeds that portion directed only at military related production does it not? The author of the first article places an inordinate importance on Sen Clintons share of a few thousand dollars of donation? Plus it ignores the political affiliation of those donors and their reasons for contributing? And it ignores the true millions versus thousands of dollars involved in the current campaign? To conclude from such meager evidence that defense interests are on Hillarys side is illogical bunco! Thus we play the fools with the time, and the spirits of the wise sit in the clouds and mock us. |
