![]() Great Knower Of All Location: Maine Posts: 240 | Obama and Clinton Dont Stand A Chance it is my opinion that neither Obama or Clinton stand a chance at becoming our next president ....... not even the slightest chance i dont think this country is ready to elect anyone other then a white man as president ...... again just my opinion ... though i do think it is very accurate and will bear out to be fact (before anyone decides to flame me as not being PC, grow up .. i vote for the best possible candidate regardless) i know the KKK and Neo-Nazis still have large followings in this country .... i also know democratic women that will not vote for Clinton because she puts up with an admitted cheating husband When I look at you, I doubt I could eat the amount I wanna vomit |

![]() The Cake is a lie... Location: St. Louis Posts: 2,285 | Simple Simon does bring up a good question, though it's one that's been debated ad nauseum since Obama and Hillary became front runners. "Is America ready for a X president?" X=Black, Woman I think after Bush, people are ready for something completely different. In a lot of ways, Bush unintentionally paved the way for a black or woman president by being such a polarizing and in some cases downright hated individual. Party is representative of the elected officials they put forward. If someone like Huckabee gets the Republican nomination I don't think there is any question there will be a Democratic president come January 2009. What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality? |

I think he's done a great job of that already and thats the exact reason WHY Jesse Jackson has never been a serious candidate. He was too against the white man, and didn't seem like a "strong black man" but an angry one. I think Obama has kept himself away from such issues which melded him into the spot he was looking for. Obama has never talked about race, other then speaking about how great it is that so many people are looking for change and know it when they see it/hear it. He doesn't seem like(or just hides it well) he is expecting to win by the black minority vote which helps him appeal to everyone. I agree about Clinton though. Obama stole her votes in Iowa and I don't think that pattern will change too much. I guess NH will tell... The polls don't look too good on CNN though ![]() | |

| Immovable Location: Montana Posts: 200 | It is true that 50% of the population are women. But we are (no matter how horrible a fact it is) a Christian nation. And the die-hard Christian women are not Clinton fans. To some of these women, the woman's role in life is to be in submission to their husbands, raising children and managing the home... not a life in politics. | Paladin Location: Narnia Posts: 4,277 | Heck. I'm a Christian. I'm a woman. I get really irritated with male superiority types. It's one thing you don't want to get me started on. But I'm not going to vote for Hillary. The issue should not be the candidates' genders. If I voted on that, it would demonstrate that that sexist mindset still dictated my actions, even if in an opposite way. Even though I think it would be an affirmation to see a woman in that office, I'm still going to vote my conscience (if at all) even if it means putting that advent off another few years. ![]() Aristotle Location: Chicago, IL Posts: 4,153 | Has anyone cared to see how many more votes the 3 Democratic front-runner received vs the 3 Republican front-runners in IW and NH? The Dems are killing the Rs by a ton of votes. Democrats are more than likely taking the Presidency as they took Congress and it will either be Clinton or Obama! |

There is only one Republican that is against the war, Ron Paul. So it's no surprise to me that Democrats are getting more votes than Republicans. If a pro-war Republican gets the nomination, then a Democrat is going to the White House. ![]() Zolbuj Location: California Posts: 1,267 | I think that's definitely true. Actually, I take that back; I think that if Huckabee is elected, there's a good chance we'll have a third world war on our hands. But, assuming this doesn't occur, political support does seem to move in waves between conservative and liberalism throughout the elections, and it seems inevitable that a democrat is destined for presidency. It's almost too bad in a way; Americans would be so much better off if they weren't as bound by their political party binary. | Evil Overlord Location: A Geofront, somewhere in Antarctica Posts: 938 | Republicans are coming off of a very unpleasant 8 year regime. Usually even if a party's man in the white house screws up they'll still stick by him since hes one of them. But Mr. Bush managed to alienate a very large portion of his own party. This regime has left the republican party divided. There are 5 republican primary candidates, and they all have a different agenda. Hell, the buzz-word for this election is 'Change', and the democratic party's main candidates are the epitamy of change. New race, gender, everything.. I know your type.
