From what I have heard through conversation, Bhutto was assasinated because she was in support of irradicating the last strong hold in the Middle East, which happens to be in her country. For this reason terrorists/exteemists assasinated her. There are people in the government that are allied with the extreemists, and for that reason I think thats why they denied that she was shot. In Islam it is a great taboo to kill a woman, as such you don't want to be blamed for it because some of the general popluace will likly turn against the extreemists because of this.
Anyway's what I am getting at is that one: If the US was not in the Middle East any number of countries would right now try to take over the country to posses there Nuclear weapons. Two: If any extreemist organization tries to take over the country, our military will enter the country in a heartbeat. Three: When the next election is done, the next leader will (if he or she wants to retain any national pride,) irradicate the terrorist left in the country before we do it for them. Personaly I think that in the last year President Bush has left in the White House, he will make efforts to finally finish off all terrorist organizations in the Middle East, and capture dead or alive Usama bin Laden. (I'd bet we get him alive just like Hussain.) Lastly I have heard that this year was deadly for our troops, but only in the first part of the year. I have heard that currently conditions are safer than they have ever been. Please post anything you may have to further expalin this better than I have, or if you have anything to the contrary I like to hear it. God Bless.

GEN. DAVID PETRAEUS, COMMANDER OF MULTINATIONAL FORCES IN IRAQ: Well, as you noted, indeed, just about every category, every trend that we watch, is down, roughly about 60 percent — civilian deaths, numbers of attacks — thankfully, and touch wood, our casualties down substantially as well..........
.......And they have had a surge going on this year as well, by the way. They've added well over 110,000 new Iraqi soldiers and police.......
