Top Ten Rated Anti-Pork Senators

Quote:
Last week, the Club for Growth released its 2007 Senate RePORK Card, compiling a scorecard of all senators’ votes on 15 anti-pork amendments throughout 2007. These amendments were offered by taxpayer heroes Senators Tom Coburn (R.-Okla.) and Jim DeMint (R.-S.C.).

I note there are no Democrat Senators in the top 10? Could it be that the Democrat rabble don't care about their constituens pocket books?

Hmm... what was it that Democrats ran on in 2006? Ending the practice of ear-marks and pork-barrel spending? They sure do follow through nicely, don't they?

Thus we play the fools with the time, and the spirits of the wise sit in the clouds and mock us.

Indeed, I don't know how anybody can support the Democrats anymore.

As always, the Democrats really only care about other Democrats, and not the country, or it's constituents.

How do you measure pork?

and hold their senators and representatives accountable for wasting taxpayer dollars on hippie museums and beaches.”
Republican senator Kit Bond from Missouri seems to do nothing but find ways to bring federal tax dollars to Boeing in Missouri to manufacture bombs, missles, and planes for war.

So would you or the people who came up with the listing call that pork? I would call it pork even though I'm from Missouri. Yet a museum or a public beach is listed as pork. IMO, any federal money that is not evenly distributed to all of the states equally is pork.

The main point I make is that your article could very well be biased towards republicans in how it measures pork since it is a very hard thing to measure anyway.

Well, since we're at war, I believe these things are called necessities.

Top 10 Highest Ranked Anti-Pork Senators - HUMAN EVENTS

Quote:
“For all the talk about fiscal responsibility, it is clear that many senators are more interested in securing pet projects than living up to their campaign promises,” said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey.
“Fortunately, taxpayers can look at the Club for Growth’s House and Senate RePORK Cards and hold their senators and representatives accountable for wasting taxpayer dollars on hippie museums and beaches.”
Different names, dates, subjects, etc.
Since the issue stays the same (read : money, influence, positions, profits, etc.) ? has anything been changed and/or I overlooked ? :-)

Fun no Ron Paul on the list. If he practiced what he preached shouldn't he be #1?

Good to see McCain on the list at #4, at least he practices what he preaches!
