America going through a one-way street?

A random thought I had:

A ton of low skilled jobs are lost to countries like China because they can make it for less.

The people who lost their jobs would have trouble making money, and starts depending on cheap goods from China.

People who depends on cheap Chinese made goods benefits China's economy.

They will be able to make a bigger variety of stuff for less

More jobs are lost to China, more people depending on Chinese goods

Is this a never ending cycle that would devastate the US?

That was a great observaton, and I think the "devastated U.S. (or us) that you predicted is being felt already.

But not all the barbie dolls made in China are sold cheaply here. Because the companies having them made in China keep the price here up on important name brand products, and these corperations just make more profit, we loose our jobs, the workers of China are not getting paid more because the company earns more profit but they have more jobs, our jobs. None the less it is sort of a loose loose situtation for the workers in both countries. But come Christmas, we will forget and people will scrape together whatever then can to buy their kid the lastest Barbie Doll. ( at Walmart of course ).

Considering unemployment has remained relatively constant for years (relatively - +/- 1% due to market fluctuations, etc), I'm going to say no.

Our jobs are not being shipped overseas - the jobs we no longer want are being shipped overseas for the large part.

You know the news/government only report the people who just fell of the employment lists, correct.

The funny thing is that as paranoid as you sound I've caught them presenting inflation in deliberately misleading ways and am curious about anything I might have missed involving unemployment.

Destroying America one Volconvo post at a time.

Religious controversies are always productive of more acrimony and irreconcilable hatreds than those which spring from any other cause.

Were on the road to a nation where the only jobs are being flithy stinking rich, and serving the whims of the filthy stinking rich.

The statistics represent people who are not working and are looking for work. Those numbers have remained relatively constant.

Well all it would be is a guess. So why don't you get some real evidence and come back and refute my point.
