I've heard it said that Bush might have a bigger chance of success if he had supported a country "Kurdistan," broken those 3 sections of Iraq up into the 3 respective parts, but Turkey would've opposed a Kurd nation because they could possibly lose a lot of southern territory if there was some sort of pan-Kurdism, and a fractured Iraq would be harder to administer, as well as look bad to Arabs. I think the effect is better if we take Iraq as a who
I totally disagree. The problem with borders in the middle east (as well as Africa for that matter) is that it totally ignores culture. The nation of iraq has three cultures, the shi'ite, sunni, and kurds. These three aren't particularly friendly to each other, which will lead to further hostilities. Perhaps we should fix this if we "really" wanted a "democratic" Iraq.

Bush or Kerry will make no difference.
Things will begin to happen faster than the media can report them and faster than people can absorb them.
Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Turkey will be drawn in.
Sudan will complete it's mission of genocide while the Un attempts to define "genocide"
Eygpt with grow increasingly more violent as Islamo Facists push for more control.
Pakistan will teeter on collapse and liberals will question our support of Musarif.
India will move in Kashmir if Musarif falls.
The French will continue to declare their right to be “French”
Tony Blair will lose a confidence vote before or after a major terror attack on Britain.
I’d put the odds at 50% somebody somewhere detonates a dirty bomb or nuke somewhere outside the US.
Ted Kennedy will begin drinking even more.
Sharon will continue to build "Fortress Israel"
More "innocents" will die. Lots more
A major operation will take place to route out Al-Quaeda in the South Pacific. This will go almost unnoticed however because it will coincide with Britnay Spear's "I'M BACK" tour.
Al-Quaeda will kill Maddona declaring her an Infidel and Jerry Falwell will relize that he does have something in common with Bin Laden.
Gasoline will climb to $4.00 a gallon, Interest rates will rise, Gold goes to $500 per ounce. Then western governments begin to sell gold from stockpile driving the price back down to $400 and screw "gold bugs" out of millions.
Noam Chomsky will call for a campaign to release Ted Kazinsky. But Al Gore will have grown a beard and bought Ted's house at government auction.
John Dean will try to rebuild his power base by moving to New Hampshire.
Wal-Mart will build atleast 3 more stores in a partnership with Home Depot. McDonalds will buy Whole Foods market.

this "fix" will likely lead to a turkish invasion of kurdistan, and an iranian invasion of eastern iraq.

hope for america...
