| Liberated thinker Location: New Mexican Alps Posts: 2,113 | Ibn_Sina..You generalize off a few specifics which is illogical even in Islam! To point out the antics of a few 'rappers' as indicative of majority US expression is ridiculous! There are literally thousands of entertainers and hundreds if not thousands of various types of entertainment expression in this country of some 300 million people! The very fact that expression in the USA is not fettered by religion or oppressive laws ruins your criticism. In Islamic countries freedom of expression is limited by the Mullahs interpretaations of the Koran. In Saudi Arabia one can get whipped for not wearing approved attire? Women can be threatened for even walking un chaperoned with a male aquaintance? Women do not have equal rights? Living under such restrictions is intolerable in the thoughts of we who live in a free society. Sure our society is not free of crime and stupidity by its people, some of whom push behavior beyond the laws, but it is free and there is a system of equality under the laws. Lets face it Iran is a proven trouble maker in the middle east. It has purposefully created trouble in Iraq which has prolonged the US occupation and hindered the setting up of a government in that country. The blood of thousands of Iraqis is on Irans conscience. It has sponsored terrorism and provided weapons by which women and children are killed. The US quit offensive military tactics four years ago and the terrorist violence continues. Thus we play the fools with the time, and the spirits of the wise sit in the clouds and mock us. |

"prolonged the US occupation" why is the U.S. building bases in Iraq? How prolonged do you think permanent bases will make the occupation? Yes Iran is a trouble maker, but you don't think the U.S. is a trouble maker also? Why in Gods name can people not see that by bombing people your not going to make them like you or follow your system. The Romans tried and failed what makes you think the U.S. will succeed? The only thing that can make you believe this is brain washing by the media. Last edited by thx1138; Jul 31, 2007 at 04:56 am. | ||

When the country doesn't support you, then no foreign influence will be effective either. The only way would could have saved the Shah's Iran is to have nuked the whole country! Not a good way to save the people! |
