I was reading an essay of Antonio Gramsci. Well, media critics like Noam Chomsky or dissidents such as Alex Cockburn, William Blum will tell you the same thing Gramsci said decades ago. What he said is, in some countries, states do not use coercion to control its people. Civil societies such as Media, Churches, Schools rather serve an ideological purpose, by promoting the dominant ideologies (beliefs shared by the rulers).

You said you grew up in Iranian and are still in the ME. I doubt you live in Israel, which has the only independent news sources in the ME. Therefore your a product of the State run much more biased news.

The Islamic Republic of Iran was forced upon Iranians by zealous religious leaders who most of the people can't stand these days, which is why the government keeps having to crack down on protests in the country.
Islam is not compatible with freedom of anything.

That is because while you are trying to tell the honest truth, he is grasping at any rationalization he can muster up to attempt to hideously justify the crime against the Palestinian people.
