Al Qaeda declares WAR--> on IRAN

This should debuke the Bush administration's propaganda that the Shiite Iranian regime has ties to the Sunni Al Qaeda organization. Not saying that Iran isn't a threat who supports terrorist (Hezbollah and Shiite militias), but the ties to Al Qaeda are unfound.

"We are giving the Persians, and especially the rulers of Iran, a two-month period to end all kinds of support for the Iraqi Shi'ite government and to stop direct and indirect intervention ... otherwise a severe war is waiting for you," he said in the 50-minute audiotape released Sunday. The tape, which could not be independently verified, was posted on a Web site commonly used by insurgent groups. Iraq's Shi'ite-led government is backed by the US but closely allied to Iran. The United States accuses Iran of arming and financing Shi'ite militias in Iraq - charges Teheran denies. In the recording, al-Baghdadi also gave Sunnis and Arab countries doing business in Iran or with Iranians a two-month deadline to cease their ties. "We advise and warn every Sunni businessman inside Iran or in Arab countries especially in the Gulf not to take partnership with any Shi'ite Iranian businessman - this is part of the two-month period," he said

I don't think Bush see any differents between any groups in the middle east or he know that the majority of people in the U.S. don't know the difference. Not to be disrespectful, but so many people have been dumbed down in public schools as to not care about there being any difference.

It seems the great majority know very little about politics. We're an elite society, so we can afford to ignore political issues. They may see hate-filled books by Ann Coulter while passing by the book shelves at Shopko, but beyond that it doesn't interest them.

Back on topic! If this is true I it would be great for a variety of reasons:
(1) What I stated above, it debunks Bush's theory of the Iran/Al Qaeda link.
(2) It show that Iran's ME ambition have similiar consequence to the US ambitions.
(3) Maybe it will have the same effect the Iranian government that Jordon, Egypt, Lebannon, S.A, and other Muslim country are seeing. Islamic terrorism is a huge threat to them also.

I think you are reading too much into this. The Islamo Fascists want just what the U.S. Republican Fascists want. The profits and the power that Iraqi oil will give. Just remember the profits that Iraqi Oil will bring is not costing the U.S. Republican Fascists one dime. The U.S. Taxpayer is paying for this Iraq Oil Grab. The U.S. Republican Fascists are the ones getting the Tax Cuts.

I think your assessment is flawed. Where is the oil you talk about? How do you connect tax cuts to the war (Note: If a Democrat gets elected then expect your taxes to increase).

The reason the Iraq war and Afghanistan wars have gone so bad is the same reason the Vietnam war went so bad. In these wars we are trying to nation build for the weaker and less motivated side. If we go to war with Iran it better be the old style WW II (Desert Storm) strategy. The whole country is our enemy and take out the whole country and then assist them in rebuilding it economically only, after they surrender. Our goal wasn't to put in a puppet regime, but rather a clear objective of defeating an enemy.

No more nation building wars, they don't work. Note: This is not an endorsement of a war with Iran. I don't desire that. I am just stating if we do go to war with Iran, learn from mistakes in Iraq and Vietnam and learn from our success in Desert Storm, WW I and WW II.

What facts have you stated? I haven't seen a cite or reference to back up your claims. If you don't recall the Democrats also voted for the war. Senator Clinton made a compelling speech for the war.

However, you are new to volconvo and I you misassessed my stance. I said the minute it was clear there were no WMDs in Iraq we made a mistake and should leave. I am against nation-building war. I support Ron Paul's stance that we should bring all our boys home. I am for ending the war on drugs. I strongly support UHC. I believe in global warming (and can't understand how someone can deny it) and support Gore's steps to counter it. I voted for Gore, Kerry and Obama (for IL Senator).
