There's a couple things that have caused me to look a little harder. How does he stack up to the current leader? |

A couple of the main reasons, in my opinion, I would like to see that..... -Paul and Gravel I think more accurately are in touch with what is causing the brunt of mistrust between the bulk of the citizens and the government, and its thousands of agencies. (there are something like 21 million government employees.) -They both look toward returning to fundamentals of a Constitutional Republic, something that has been missing from our government for the last 150+ years, regarding war powers, policy making, and the role of representation. -They both agree on most major issues, and that agreement is based on Constitutional foundation principles, and I think could work toward a more acceptable (to all citizens) compromise on how to address major internal issues that are working to erode the union, with much less partisanship than any of the other "canidates" for the office. I really think Paul/Gravel '08 could be the best "bi-partisan" ticket many Independents, Libertarians, Constitutionalists can actually endorse in good faith to their principles and also that classic liberals and classic conservatives can respect and see as a welcome change. Paul/Gravel '08 may be the Cinderella ticket we could actually make happen. Traditionally, for me, its been hard to side with any major party ticket due to their voting records and "windsock" approach to gaining public support (contrasted with their voting records). Paul/Gravel would be a bi-partisan ticket I could support, and that hasn't been an option for long before I was old enough to vote. | Pragmatic liberal Posts: 421 | I was just checking out the Gravel 2008 web page, and it doesn't look like his views are very much in line with Paul's. He does have some libertarian leanings, but overall I would say he is more of a progressive than a libertarian. The Issues | Gravel 2008 For one thing, he supports a universal healthcare voucher program. He's also a gun control proponent as well.
