I do need to make a correct here. The estimate is not exact, but the US Jewish population is estimate is around 1.8% (5.6 mil) to highly wishful thinkers at 3.3% (10 mil). Still not large percentages and roughly the same as Muslims.

Jewish interests are represented, but no to the extend that you and many perclude to. Who you say the same about African-Americans with affirmative action?

You assume alot right there. I think a jew stands as much of a chance as the black guy or the woman. I don't think America hates jews all that much, sure some people do, but just as many people hate black people and women. Throw the Mormons up there as well some people don't like them either. I think enough people in this country though are trying rise above racism where it might not matter. We'll see after the primaries are done, if its two old Christian white guys going head to head in 08, then I guess people are just too afraid of change.

I wish you are right, but I don't think so.

There are a hell of a lot more women and blacks in this country than Jews. Minorities (Latinos) have a natural drive towards other minorities.

I am not one of the ones that think Jews have enormous influence. I do think that their influence exceeds their population representation by quite a bit.

Minorities seem to demand over representation, though. Some will say, look, there's only ____ number of ____......well, that's 15%, and the corresponding % of the population is 6%, so how is that discriminatory?

Anyway....I don't know about hatred for Jews being prevalent in the US.....in my little corner of it, I never hear anyone say anything like that....it doesn't have to be about hatred, it was a big deal to elect a Catholic too.

I think it's just hard to break the mold of a white male Christian.

I still think the Jews get set aside in a different light. Anti-semitism is masked by stating they are anti-Israel or anti-zionism. It is become PC or the left thinking to hate on Israel (which in effect becomes hating on the Jews).

True, but how did Liberman do in the primaries? Gore didn't pick him (as it's the process) as his running mate until he won the primaries. It could have been more of a love for Gore and for Clinton and the for the Democratic party.

I wouldn't have any real beef with Judaism except for its secular territorial conquest agenda--Zionism and it's goal of creating Israel as a Jewish nation.

Jimmy Carter, AIPAC critics Walt and Mearsheimer(sp) and scores of other sources have shown how much America's foreign policy in the Middle East has been controlled by the Zionist lobbyists as well as the out-front Jewish advisor members of the neo-cons. We need to remember at all times Jewish people make up only 2% of America's population.

I think we'd all feel a lot different about the Jewish influence in our government, media, banking, universities, if another minority group, say Mormons, were picked to be special advisors, owners of the Fed Reserve Banks, producers of most of our movies and TV shows, and on and on goes the list of economic, political and cultural power of Jewish people far out of proportion to their 2% population numbers.

I think we'd all feel differently if Mormon advisors were advising the US to create a Mormon homeland and nation out of Utah and asking for money and weapons to create such a religious monstrosity that was already tried and failed.

We've had an imbecile masquerading as a "president" for 6.5 years, all it takes is owning the media, unlimited funds.. oh.. and having (owning) a 5-4 heh.. edge in the "su-preeem" court.. handy to have when you haven't the plurality.. nor enough legit electoral votes.. after having a so-called "election" - by miscounted vote and favors from your elector's in certain states.. etc.. etc.. ad infinitum unto nausea..

Then too.. take any other job of equal import.. um.. I guess we can't.. but anyway.. say a brain surgeon.. or airline pilot.. they have certain standards to meet.. and are tested rigorously before taking lives into their hands.. perhaps not 300,000,000 + but enough so as to require meeting strict and unforgiving testing & continuous scrutiny. So.. all that said.. what's the big deal if a Jew or palmist run..?? We certainly don't hold the world's most powerful office in great esteem anymore..

There are probably hundreds of thousands of brilliant.. superbly qualified people that not only outshine the current slug.. but whom would have led this country into a place of envy & honor among the earth's inhabitants..
