Living in America many people have a wide arrange of opinions, half side with Democratic and the other half side with Republican policy. A select few will migrate towards the middle not exactly knowing what to think.

I am 18 years old and I use the computer to chat with friends, and also to read political and music forums. My knowledge on the world is certainly not up to par with you guys but I think I am alittle aware, I am certainly willing to learn.

When I read the forums I can tell who knows what they are talking about and those who do not.

Could you all agree that there are some voters out there who keep up on issues however not as hardcore as some?

Does anybody care to compare and contrast Liberal news sites and Conservative news sites besides the obvious likes and differences?

My point is I feel those who are not very deep into the current political issues but are deep enough where they post a article from their favorte political news site fall mores towards the democratic side. Now thats my opinion lets hear yours............

What side is it easier to be on the right or the left.......?

I'm the thought that never crossed my mind.

Neither. They are both controlled by the same banking institutions. Bush isn't a "conservative". Clinton isn't a "liberal". They are command and control servants of the New World Order. Their rhetoric is different while their actions almost mirror each other. The differences are trivial at best and at the most exist on the surface only. Sovereign nations no longer exist.

but don't be fooled by people who are good at searching the internet for choice pieces of information without constructing their own arguments. that shows strong bias, and such people aren't to be trusted imo.

the side that's easiest to be on is the intellectually honest one - regardless of the issue being considered liberal or conservative. sometimes conservatives are right, sometimes liberals are right. no single group is always right, and that's why it's very important to learn with an open, undogmatic, mind.

if you latch on too tightly to one perspective, you risk becoming a parrot.

Well rez, that may or may not be true. There was a thread here that took a head count on who felt they belonged to any of about 7 or 9 points along the political spectrum. The largest group appeared to be "moderate conservative", with all the rest spread fairly evenly among everything else.

It just SEEMS like more are democrat because our arguements are so much more pursuasive [joking, joking]

That depends entirely on what makes sense to you. I don't believe either is 'easier'.

I have never seen a republican poster do this, I countlessly see Liberals doing it which is why I made this topic.

you must've missed some of the more conservative sites then..

i used to post at one for about a year and i'd see people do nothing but post articles - rather than make their own arguments.

weak minds aren't monopolized by republican, democrat, conservative or liberal.

I can not seem to get the right question out.

I am trying to figure out if a weak mind can defend their party

I am certain that a weak mind could not follow Buddhism as good as maybe the Catholic faith.....right?

actually here we go

Which party takes more studying and knowledge of? I guess I feel its harder to be a Republican seeing how they do not come up with conspiracy theories (ie Micheal Moore.) Or do they?

Edit: another reason why I feel its easier.....your peers. I do not see many HighSchool and College students that are Republicans.

You mean it's harder to lie than discover those lies? I don't think so.

rez, I think you're laboring under a false premise, that one or the other position is easier to defend. Of course everyone will say that THEIR position is easier to defend because they believe they're right.

I think the only way to evaluate positions is, unfortunately, the one that requires the most work. Read through threads that catch your interest and see who you tend to agree with, who you don't, and see how they advance their arguements.

As to weak minds, well, I hope you're not including yourself. Your very presence here shows intellectual curiosity and a grasp of issues. You're young and just like anything, presenting a coherent arguement takes practice, practice, practice.

Oh, and read your newspaper every single morning.

I wouldn't call Mike Moore a conspiracy theorist. I'm not sticking up for him but that's not how I would define him. It's not like he's necessarily lying he just doesn't present ALL the facts.

College CAN. Doesn't necessarily mean it DOES. TN state universites are a mess. Wouldn't say they "work miracle". What are you state school's like?

Great movie. You should see it. Matt Damon (Will Hunting) plays this genius that doesn't really care to do anything with his talent. He's in a bar with his buddy and his buddy starts hitting on a woman. A guy that had been previously hitting on the same girl overhears Hunting's buddy telling the girl he goes to Harvard. He knows he's lying and he starts showing off his smarts. Hunting comes out of nowhere and starts to match wits with the guy. He tells the guy that's talking smack to his boy that he wasted $100,000 to get an education the HE (Hunting) got reading a used book that cost 5 bucks.
