I have an idea. Lets get people from across this debate board to run for "president." Each person can choose their party and talk and debate about the topics. After a while, we'll hold a huge poll with every candidates and their ideas, so that everyone can vote! What do you all think?



I'll run for Republican Presidential Candidate. Here are some of my beliefs.

WAR IN IRAQ:

We must follow the course to victory. Many people argue: We are losing the lives of Americans for Foreigners! Very true. However, that is America! Of all the countries of the world, we step up to help those in need. We help those in times of crisis. We will stay in Iraq, with troop supportments, until Iraq has the forces and power nessisary to control its own country.



ABORTION:

Lets look at it this way. Scott Peterson killed his pregnant wife and was charged with 2 counts of murder. Why? Because that helpless baby boy or girl was a human being. It is murder to kill a human being, born or unborn, and thats exactly what abortion does. Abortion will not be fully illegal, however. It shall only occur when: The mother was raped, the mother will die with the continuation of the growing of the child, or the child shows very strong signs of having a fatal illness or disability and the mother consents to the abortion. All other abortions shall be illegalized.


GOVERNMENT SPENDING POLICY

As you know, the US government is about $8,000,000,000,000 in debt. I will do all I can to lower Government Spending in order to get this large amount of debt as low as possible. I will also lower the United States dependence on Foreign Oil by researching cars run on things including, but not limited to: Water (Preferrably salt), Nitrogen, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and Solar Power.


BORDER SECURITY:

We must step up and strengthen border security. As the president, a son, a mailman, student, or any normal citizen, I would like to know who is entering the nation I love and for what reason. I want to build a large wall or fence to make people enter this great nation legally only. I will not use government spending to build this wall, but from fundraisers. Predictions tell me I should raise enough money in 3 years to fully build a fence on the US-Mexico border, and maybe eventually the US-Canada border. This isn't guaranteed though, it all depends on the US people to donate and help me out.


ILLEGAL ALIENS:

I believe we need to give the current illegal aliens 2 years to go to a station to legally register as a citizen. Anyone who has not registered and is caught as an illegal citizen will be arrested and, not deported, but put in an American jail. If they want to stay in this country, fine. However, if they can't do it legally they'll be put in our jails. You may consider over-crowded jails. I will try to get help from Mexico, Haiti, Cuba, and other countries where mass Illegal Entry occurs so that when these Illegals stay in our jails, we can transport them to their home country's jails at the smallest price possible.


GUN CONTROL:

I believe firearms should only be sold to those who complete the following:
-They have not ever gotten a DUI or in any trouble because of the use of alcohol.
-They have completed a class on the dangers of guns
-They have completed a class on the history and effects of guns
-They are at least 21 years of age


HEALTH CARE:

I keep this simple. I believe everyone has a right to health care. I believe that, depending on your income rate, you should receive free health care. If you make under a certain amount of money, health care is free. As your income rate increases, so does the cost of health care---to a point. You can't charge people too much! However, the current price of health care for those with high interests rates with almost double. However, those people can pay for it.

MARRIAGE:

Marriage is between a man and a woman only. Homosexual marriage should become fully illegal and shunned. Marriage was created for a man and a woman, and it should stay that way. The Marriage Act of 1753 and the Defence of The Marriage Act in 1996 in our constitution states that it is illegal, and thats our constitution.

TAXATION

Because of my proposed drop in Government Spending in order to lower National Debt, Taxes will, regrettably, rise. A Nation-Wide tax of 25%* will be applied to all States and it is unchangeable except under an agreement from 2/3 of Congress and the President. Objects that are currently not taxed will be. *- This applies to those with lowest income rates. The higher your income, the higher your taxes, up to 50% for those making tons of money

I wouldn't vote for anyone who proposes imposing religious beliefs on a country without a state religion or who thinks rights are granted to its citizens. WAR IN IRAQ

I think we should never have started this war in the first place. But given that we already have, I think we should finish the job. First, we must set out to win the people's hearts. We must launch an extensive propaganda campaign to paint us and the present Iraqi government in the best possible light. At the same time we must smear the the insurgents and make them feared and hated, so that the majority of the population will turn them in and rat on them first chance they get. I will not rule out using lies and deceit in the said propaganda campaign (a bit despicable, yes, but this WAR). Second, we will employ whatever means necessary to eliminate the enemy, including covert assassination operations and professional death squads. The kid gloves are off! Third, we must do whatever necessary to revive the economy, restart production and pump the profits back into the Iraqi economy.



ABORTION:

My stance on this issue coincides with Dr. Debate (see above).


GOVERNMENT SPENDING POLICY

I think there's limited room for reducing domestic spending. Americans should not suffer because the previous administrations have squandered away our wealth. If we need to economize, we must cut spending in areas which do not affect the average citizen. Spending on foreign policy and foreign aid ought therefore to be reduced drastically. This will mean less American influence abroad, but if this a necessary short term measure, then so be it!


BORDER SECURITY:

My stance on this issue is more or less the same as Dr. Debate's. Illegal immigration must be stopped and illegals must be caught and repatriated ASAP. Not only that, those who knowingly employ illegals will face criminal sanctions. A scheme must be put in place to facilitate legal immigration of those people who we think will make significant contributions to our nation and it is of the utmost importance that we are the ones who get to choose who we admit into our nation.


ILLEGAL ALIENS:

Please see above. In general illegals will be caught and repatriated (exceptional cases will be dealt with by the setting up of special immigration tribunals presided over by professional judges).

GUN CONTROL:


I think there should be a general ban on the possession and ownership of arms by private citizens. Application for licenses will only be allowed on the good cause being shown to the satisfaction of the licensing authorities. There should be an avenue of appeal from these licensing authorities to the state supreme court.


HEALTH CARE:

The provision of health care should be free to those who can't afford it. However, I shall put in place a mandatory scheme for those above a certain income bracket to pay a certain proportion of their income towards the purchase of health insurance. Details of this scheme may be ironed out after I form my government. But the general policy direction is to force as many people as possible to use a reasonable portion of their income top secure their own health care. For those who cannot do this, the state will take care of their health care bills.

MARRIAGE:

I intend to call a nationwide referendum on this issue. The outcome of this referendum will determine what I will do.

TAXATION

I propose a modest increase in taxes in 'bands'. The higher your income, the greater the increase, but with a ceiling of 40%.

The official cost of Iraq is around $340 billion. I intend that we just bombed Iraq with dollars. Every family in Iraq would be - are you ready for this?-$70,000 richer. That would make Iraq one of the richest countries in the world. I guarantee you those greedy bastards would find better things to do with their time than kill american soldiers. Everybody'd thank us. Not just the Iraqis but every gold chain manufacturer in Egypt, every brothel manager in Amsterdam, every Mercedes dealer in Baghdad. They'd be wheeling and stealing, cheatin' and greetin', till they OD'd on haggling.

ABORTION:
I would make abortion illegal, but any mother could kill her child up to the age of 18, provided she did it with her own hands.

GOVERNMENT SPENDING POLICY

The central plank of my Policy is the eventual abolition of money. After all, people are often heard to mutter how they hate the stuff. Unfortunately people are so bound up with the concept of money that to remove it immediately is probably not feasible. The first step is to make money very annoying as a means of exchange, frustrating potential users with its bulk and valuelessness, to a point that the population gives money up as a sick joke.
Initially, our Finance Minister will intervene in the economy to keep a tightly managed money supply. Their first act will be to stop the printing of “paper” money and to reintroduce one and two cent pieces. The mass migration and disinvestments as overseas investors flee the country after the election will devalue the dollar even further. The Monetary Reform will then base the dollar on the REDUCING LUNAR SAND STANDARD which is incredibly complicated(1). To summanse; it involves the value of the currency changing daily according to the phase of the moon, the Presidents weight, and Her/His age.

Taken together these policies will result in money falling into disrepute and disuse, disappearing fmally from human existence and memory. People will conduct trading through barter, market days, festivals and other jolly forms of gift exchange. The depression will be over.

BORDER SECURITY:

Central to the border security issue will be the External Ignorance Bureau, a section of the DEPARTMENT OF IGNORANCE. Their task will be to travel around the world, secretly tampering with maps, both existing and in preparation, introducing little hiccups in the programs of satellites, and removing all mention of America from all non-fiction publications. By the time of the next election America will have mysteriously disappeared completely from the worlds collective memory. Consequently, no one will even visit us, let alone cross our borders illieagally.

HEALTH CARE

Once dependency on a centralised health system has been broken, old fashioned and traditional forms of health care will be encouraged. Our Party recognises that the success or failure of all medicine is largely dependant on the patients belief in it, rather than the amount of money spent. Thus a variety of medical practitioners will be available to work with the multiplicity of belief systems that will proliferate in our great country In addition to the G.P.s, surgeons, homoeopathic healers, acupuncturists, naturopaths, psychotherapists, dietitians, etc. that already abound, Americans will enjoy the services of witch doctors, faith healers, travelling quacks and other more traditional members of the medical profession.

MARRIAGE:
Men made a big mistake when they began owning property and started viewing themselves as parents, as they then developed a desire to hand this property, along with their name, on to ‘their’children, Sons in particular. This posed the question “How can I be sure these are my children?”. The answer was to turn women into possessions; gain control of them by limiting their sexual contacts and ensure that they remained dependant on men (eg. for food, shelter and social clout).
The role of child-carer will not be restricted to biological parent. This task will be taken by those with the aptitude and inclination, either male or female.
Our party will outlaw surnames and forbid men from owning land, money, buildings or businesses. This should keep their worst tendencies under control.

As well mandatory homosexuality will be introduced for 33% of the population.

War in Iraq: It's an occupation, not a war. We are leaving now, sorry about the war part.

Abortion: My new Executive Order says implanted ovums are human beings. Kill one and I'll charge you with violating the civil rights of an American.

Federal spending: I'll be vetoing all spending bills for what I consider pork. That means anything I can't find authorization for in the US Consititution. I am deleting the following departments: Education, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, Agriculture, Energy, Transportation, Labor, Veterans Affairs and Housing and Urban Development. All the employees of those departments will need to justify why I shouldn't lay them off. I'll be scrutinizing the other Departments too and canning lots of people with cushy jobs.

Defense is gonna have to get by on about $200 bilion a year. Defense projects in the pipeline will be evaluated and eliminated unless a pressing need can be shown. The nation has plenty of hardware.

We will be reducing the deficit for two years. Then we will be paying down the debt. This is essential to gain credit and credibility in the world of international finance. When the debt gets below $5 trillion, taxes will be reduced by 20% across the board. My goal is to abolish the Internal Revenue Service. We will have a national discussion on financing essential government services. Preferably with user fees and tariffs.

Foreign aid will no longer include military assistance. CIA black budget is reduced to about $5 billion for the next two years, then eliminated. CIA will thenceforth operate on budget. All secret prisons will close immediately, all rendition flights will terminate immediately.
The US will no longer hold anyone without charges. If they cannot be charged they will be released with my apology for their inconvenience.

Immigration policy will be strictly enforced by an expanded INS. Employers who violate laws by hiring undocumented workers will be paying substantial fines. If necessary I will make an example of a few by asking for prison time for corporate officers who refuse to comply with the laws.

Health care is not a Federal issue.
I will seek ways of rescinding Medicaid and other Federal health spending. I will ask Congress to repeal the Prescription benefit. International drug purchases will now be completely legal, and pharmaceutical corporations will need to consider how they might reduce their products costs in order to remain competitive. US foreign policy will not be manipulated by lobbies for foreign nations. I will closely observe lobbies benefiting other nations. Violations of US law will be met with harsh penalties. This means you, AIPAC.

I will get to the bottom of the "anomalies" of September 11th. Any wrongdoing, even by current or former US officials will be publicized and punished to the fullest extent. September 11th will no longer be a stated rationale for the War on Terror. In fact, I will retire that phrase. We will be doing international police work and arresting terrorists with cooperation from police departments from many nations. They will be tried.

In keeping with the 2nd Amendment, all types of military weapons will be available for public purchase, short of WMD. I will encourage militias to train for using modern weapons to defend the nation and reduce military spending. WAR IN IRAQ:
As my running-mate tinybear already pointed out, there were really no justifiable grounds to begin this war in the first place with. Unfortunately, the fact does remain that we did enter this war, and we cannot back out now leaving the new-formed country open to enemies and insurgants. As a democratic society, we believe in the liberties and rights of all people, not just those of our country, but of our planet as well. This means we cannot leave these people open to the oppression and ideology that we came into their country to free them of. We gave them this hope and these ideas and now it is our responsibility as a free nation to help out those in need, we cannot cling to our constitution and sit idly by in this circumstance.

ABORTION:
I'm not going to sit here and lie to you; I believe abortion is wrong. However, America wasn't founded on what I believe, it was founded on freedom and democracy. However, where do those freedoms end? Or perhaps more appropriately, when do they start? The point is, unborn life is still human life, and still deserve the rights that American citizens deserve, one of the most important of which is life. So I will push for the illegalization of all abortions that were not caused by rape and do not threaten the life of the mother in any way.
This may raise the question as to where my stance on STEM CELL RESEARCH is. I am all for stem cell research; infact, I lost a grandmother to alzheimers. However, I do not believe that the best approach to harvesting stem cells is by creating human life with the main intent on its destruction. There are trillions of stem cells going to waste inside umbillical cords that are needlessely tossed away after birth. I will instigate the UCUP, or Umbillical Cord Utilization Program, to make sure that all those stem cells may be properly used by the SCRP, or Stem Cell Research Program, that I am starting and federally funding as well.

GOVERNMENT SPENDING AND STANCE ON TAXES;
Our national debt is unacceptable, and I contribute this not only to the fact that we, as a people, have become lazy, but also to the fact that those elected to serve the people in essence are the people's destruction instead.
So I state that before any public tax be instilled upon the people durring my term in office, any and all positions under the employment of the federal government, including the office of the President, will recieve 50% cut in pay, along with taxation. I will also push for every state to begin similar policies to extend to all positions under government pay with the exception of those who teach. (Not those who hole positions on Boards of Education, just those who actually teach.)

My Administration will also initialize a 100% taxation on all imported and foreign items. We will bring the economy back to America! We will not become so indebted anyfurther to other countries that they could collapse our economy on a whim.

As for government spending, we will support the bear minimum for necessary departments, and will do a full "house-cleaning" of sorts, doing away with offices and departments that are essentially wasting money and not producing what they're worth.

BORDER AND ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS:
Though I do not support anything that is against the laws of our nation, the fact is that if all illegal aliens that are in our country were all of a sudden gone not only would most restaurants and businesses have to close their doors, but we would probably be facing another depression. We will clean up border security, however, we will work with those who are illegally here to legalize their residence. If they are unwilling to comply, they will then be deported.

Homosexual Marriage: I, again, do not believe personally in Homosexual marriage, but like I said, this nation isn't built upon what I believe. However, marriage is between one man and one woman, so a new union will be created specifically for Same-Sex couples, with equal rights to that of Marriage, just with a different name.

The Coinage Act of 1864 reaffirms what has been previously stated and that the motto, In God We Trust, shall not be changed.

However, I do believe that children need to be taught everything with a second opinion. They can make up their mind, hopefully the correct way, and thats up to them. Not putting this in schools is not illegal, but it won't do much harm but give children a second option.

I'm not sure if you realize this, but the Marriage Act of 1753 (Lord Hardwicke's Marriage Act) was passed in England.

Could I take a look at the source for that? Or are those simply the standard procedures for repealing a law? I haven't had a Civics class for years and I can't find anything on law about the procedures for repealing a law.

We are leaving now and at least some of the money saved from leaving will be pumped into Iraq in order to restore the infastructure which the previous administration bombed into oblivion.

ABORTION

Women are not property or slaves. No person has the right to hook themselves upto another person withour permission and act as parasite without permission.

GOVERNMENT SPENDING POLICY

Government spending will unfortunately have to go up, though I dislike it. the previous president engaged in a foolish and unnecessary war while ignoring important domestic issues ranging from health care to basic social services. This means that we must invest capital into Iraq in order to rebuild that which we destroyed as well as invest in our own now even more damaged infastructure. You can't buy something for nothing, taxes will have to increase to fix the previous administrations mistake and create a brighter future.

However the poor already have a near impossible time paying their way and we gain evry little taxig them anyway. The rich who have gained the most from this lucrative society are by the same token those who owe the most. As such a comprehensive income tax will be enforced with an upper limit of 45%.

BORDER SECURITY:

Open the borders. There is no logical reason to keep them closed if we create a basic minimum wage. Foreign workers will be unable to undercut those born within the state. This will result in equal competetion for jobs and advancement and the best candidates will get the best jobs.

ILLEGAL ALIENS:

See the above policy.

GUN CONTROL:

Guns cause nothing but unnecessary death, this administration opposes unnecessary death.

HEALTH CARE:

Money saved through relaxing border controls, which cost a fortune to operate and enforce. In addition some of the money saved through leaving Iraq will be invested into health care as will some of the afore mentioned increase in tax. With these extra funds healthcare will be heavily subsidised massively reducing the cost of medical insurance and providing a quality service for all.

MARRIAGE:

Any administration I head will be infavor of gar rights and gay marriage.

I can edit the constitution if I was president. Add an amendment. Prohibition was constitutional at a time too. And there is no logical reason outside of theology for Gay Marriage to be illegal. The money motto, yeah, they wouldn't vote, but if they knew that they were supporting a bastardization of the original US currency and pledge, and supporting the McCarthy-Era, 1954 Red Scare Version, then maybe they would change their minds. Keep in mind this is a mock election. Furthermore, Creationism is theology, teach it in Church, not my schools. Evolution has basically been proven while Creationism is disputed due to no real scientific evidence (Have some, then show it to me).
